You can use any Chrysler six cylinder. If you use one of 23 inch head it is a direct bolt in. If you you use a 237 or 256 ci engine it will require a slight modification to fit it in.
Truck engines are identified by the T on the left front of the engine. A P nenotes a passenger car engine.

WC12 Engine Options

We just completed a build up in a WC21 model. Used a simple Chevy 350 V8 with a rochester 2 bbl Carb and added HEI distributor. Mated the engine to a New Process 822 four speed OVERDRIVE manual transmission mated with a CUCV 4X4 transfer case.

Engine is about 175 HP

The engine fits well and does not require any modification of the truck chassis or sheet metal. The only close fit is between the left rear exhaust manifold and the steering colum.

We used the larger M37 rims and military 9.00X16 NDT tires. On the road we run 52 MPH in overdrive. Engine running at 1850 RPM. 12 MPG on flat roads. And that is with a mini camper under the rear canvas and pulling a loaded M101A2 trailer.

We drove the truck from Wisconsin to Alaska and back on the MVPA Alaska Convoy. Total miles - 8763.

Many other upgrades and modifications but kept the outside all WWII looking. Hated to not have an original truck, but very happy with the results. I would do it again.
