After getting all of that done today. I was looking over the truck and really want a oilve drab color instead of this mettalic blue and white theme. I have a big commerical power washer with a big diesel heater mounted on a trailer with a 300gallon water tank so i turned the heat up to around 110 degrees and the paint started to roll off. So im extrememly happy that it is coming off without having to go threw the nightmare of getting my sandblasting stuff out and dealing with that nightmare.

Heres how i left off today.

My intentions are to drive it ha ha. Ive had the truck for about 2 years now. Leased it for a year. Has been sitting and i finally decided to do something for it. As for now here are my goals

46" tires
nice air ride seats
make the interior more comfortable
painted olive drab
drive it and enjoy doing small other things as i learn

M52 club

Sounds great. Welcome to the unoffical M52 club.

I modified mine by removing the 5th wheel and replacing the space with a
shortened M35 cargo box, to meet my requirements...

The fifth wheel is my favorite part. I have some 53' trailers i store some winter equipment on so this gives me a reason for using it. Main reason i purchased it ha ha. Until i started doing some research:drool:

whats a good primer/paint to use to do the od green? or is there a section to post this in?

There are various methods and thoughts. Some are using Bher paint from Home depot with good results. Others like myself use Gillespie paint that I order from George Baxter at Army Jeep parts in Bristol PA.

There are numerous paint threads on here.

Thinking about taking a ride up to Eastern Surplus up in PA to grab a set of 16.00 X 20 GOODYEAR AT2A with the 5 ton custom rims. I didnt plan on investing alot of money into this thing but, once i saw one on 46's i was sold. The only thing that sucks is i have to purchase 6 of them. If you guys have any pictures of non bobbed tractors on 46"s please post them up

just to clarify, 16.00 r 20's are 53" tires not 46's. on these tractors I would not do 53's personally if you are going to work it, I would do 14.00 r20's at the max which are 49" or 395/85r20's which are the 46" that you are referring to.

Just got quoted $5300 for (6) 14-20 tires with 6 custom rims. That doesn't include shipping or me going to get them. Anyone know a cheaper place. The rims are the killer they want $600/ea. thanks in advance.

Jeff's M52,painted with the Gillespie 24087 looks really good. Are you going to restore it or jsut play with it? I'd loose those ten-ton mirrors. They stick out way to far. They will cause you a lot of aggrivation when you are in tight places. Any way it looks great so far.
