Thanks A few more questions when you have time. Is this your truck? Is the main paint solid green, tan or cammo?
Was it painted that way while in service or did you add them?

Question on the stars: how come no stars are allowed on military ambulances? Ambulances used in federal military service are owned by Uncle Sam, but our military can't put the National Symbol ( the star ) on the vehicle at all. What's up with that?

There seems to be some sort of set of international agreements regarding this. I presume it is meant to differentiate vehicles being used for a military vs. medical purpose.

a) The national symbol is a 5-pointed star of lusterless white, Color Chip No. 37875. It
will be applied to all tactical and combat vehicles and appropriate equipment in CONUS
and overseas. The symbol will be applied to vehicles and equipment only when
withdrawn for issue to U.S. Army units. It will not be applied to ambulances or other
medical service vehicles affected by international agreement concerning such vehicles.

Geneva Conventions

It might have to do with the Geneva Conventions. When used as a protection symbol, these emblems should be used without any additional specification (textual or otherwise). Wayne

Geneva convention says that mostly anything marked with a red cross is a non combatant and can't be fired upon. Whether this is how it is really done is another matter.

BFD. Does anyone think that Hezballah is playing by Geneva Convention Rules? Ask them what happened to the Israeli soldiers they "captured". Anyone seen from them since?
