After reading all 100 threads in the M37 forum seems like I needed something else on the end of my fuel pick up. Maybe a nice screen would work nice. Thanks John at Midwest for supplying me a complete new one with the said screen. Went ahead and did a new fuel sending unit too.

Just about finished up with the cab to window rubber both sides and all I need is one more piece. They sent me the wrong rubber as it is just a bit wider and has no channel on the bottom to account for the screws. I also decided to pop rivet mine and it is still easy to adjust if need be.

That is great, I spent weeks finding the correct screw, even then hand grinding them to remove the crown on each screw head. Rivets are perfect.

OK since I did not read the TM I had to pull the new soft top off to align the door glass with the frame work. The front window stops had to be changed just a bit as the frame work was racked and the rear vertical piece was out just a bit too. It might be able to be done it with the top on but yea it was easer before top was on. I got the drivers side reveal just about the same. I am out just a bit on the passenger side but I am still waiting on the last piece of rubber weather stripping to make the final adjustment. You also might need to reset the windshield to cab lock downs if they are too loose or to tight. There are two places we can adjust the rear support the top two bolts and the three run down the vertical piece.

I picked mine up from just east of Richmond, Kentucky. Damn that critter is heavy. Come to find out the gentleman that owned it was my Veterinarian when I lived in Winchester, Ky. 20 years ago.

lol yep they are waay heavier than you think, espec for how small and un complicated it is. I remember when i was trailering mine back and was going up a longer slight incline, i litteraly watched the fuel gauge going down. Had to pull over twice on the incline to fill up with my jerry cans, and then at next gas station.

Tim Holloway of Distinctive Restoration finished the swap from a 230 engine to a freshly rebuilt 251, rebuilt transmission and transfer case, installed front disk brakes w/ power boost, added a Braden winch, and replaced the Chevy S10 steering column someone put in with a real M37 steering wheel and column. I've been driving it around several times per day over the last few days having fun with the truck again. It's going back to Tim to get the head bolts retrourqed and drain the break-in oil tomorrow and clean up a few odd-ball items. Really happy with how the truck is running and handling. Almost everywhere I stopped, someone would ask me where I got it. One of them was a Korean War vet and was very familiar with M37 trucks.

OK problem was new flap was not installed. You can see where the flap was worn out and allowed the tube to come through the flap creating a weak spot. Got the combat wheel back together with new flap and tube and locking ring nuts just tighten down some. Does any one know the correct torque for the nuts that hold the wheel together? I looked through TM 9-808 and did a search but no luck. 5/8 bolt and nut called for 112 foot pounds on the web but I would like to know correct torque for the nuts. Tanks
