Reference post 18: the caging process disables the air operated parking brake. Assuming the truck starts and maintains adequate air pressure, the service brake will function normally. The danger is if the engine stalls or air pressure is lost for some other reason there will be no way to stop the vehicle with the emergency side of the dual service brake chamber defeated.

Yeah, I only had 1 caged rear brake so I chanced the 30 mile drive, 35 mph with few stops, worked out for me but it was a gamble with high stakes.......

My EUC has been submitted to the Trade Security Controls. 8-12 weeks wait time. Since the truck is confirmed to crank but not start I figured first check for fuel contamination. Then pull the return line and see if fuel comes out while cranking. If yes start checking electrical, batts, relays(k1,k19,k2,k26), fuses (I’ll need to check what type, amps?) etc. If no fuel out the return start checking fuel side. Power at shut off, inspect the fuel lines, check primer, bleed system. I’m going to bring a start inhibit switch, some relays, volt meter, tools, batteries, fuel and a secondary fuel filter. I’ll know more after I send someone to the truck to check fuel from the return line. Does that sound like a proper approach?

So the truck starts if you manually engage the K1 starter relay. The main power switch does not work. Plan on checking CB70 and the switch pins 5 and 10 for continuity on the switch and going from there. When you flip the master power switch nothing seems to happen. The trans selector has a strange symbol and does not engage tranny.

Your videos show its like the dash has limited power since most gauges are not responding. One of my A1 trucks has a sticky relay when shutting down and the PBC will give similar/weird symbols when it's getting low voltage when it should be off. Follow what NDT said and work from the core problem onward.

By upstream do you mean start with the CB70 and work my way to the power switch troubleshooting?? The core problem seems to be master power switch and subsequently power to the gauges and the wtec3.
Thank you very much for the guidance.

So the master power switch and push button start the truck now but I am still getting this strange symbol on my transmission push button selector switch. I cannot engage any gears or get codes. Not sure what to do. Don’t see anything in the Tm about this symbol. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I had a similar occurrence the other day. I've been slipping the Batt connections on and off. New Batts and alt is running good.

Had a random display while cruising to the shop.

Check those terminals, charge output at multiple locations like coachgeo. At the Batts, at the alt to frame, and at the distribution panel in the cab.

I look at voltage output. Then check voltage via grounding.

Hope it's something simple

I spoke with John Kopalek at Transmission Instruments. My WTEC III push button selector apparently has a defective display or display driver. The Shifter is designed to operate between 8v and 30v and that if I see anything on the display (like the symbol I’m getting) that I don’t have a power problem. I’m sending the shifter to him for a $348 rebuild.

I filed a dispute with ironplanet because they broke the passenger side mirror on the truck and I noticed some dents in the drive shaft that were not in the auction pictures. They gave me a $200 future purchase credit. I fought them for more but they wouldn’t budge.
As soon as my SF97 arrives I can have the truck put on a 20’ platform, lowboy trailered to the harbour from Pasha and shipped from Oahu to Maui on for a $1450 barge ride of 90 miles. Can’t wait to get the truck home start messing with it. I’m leaning towards a setup like this:

I have had the ambulance for years and it’s 12’x8’

I’ve had the ambulance for years. Got it for free plus a $300 tow. My kid uses it as a playhouse. The Ford van it sits on is wasted. I think it can be turned into a functional camper.
