I appreciate your question although the rock rails were purchased mainly for the removable step so my wife can get in a bit easier. I actually am in the process of ordering the pictured grab bar rails to mount on the hard top roof. She or I should have no problem getting in once everything is installed. To actually answer your question the rails are not welded two piece angle iron. They are laser cut one piece GRADE 50 HOT ROLLED, PICKLED and OILED (HRPO) CARBON STEEL. I imagine that they will pretty much take whatever abuse that you throw at them. I do a lot of parades in my HMMWV. I like knowing that my HMMWV is certainly capable of "extreme" driving although I typically do not drive it that way.

I got all those dang radiator hoses changed and a new heater control valve installed. Next on the list is the belts. I a trying to recruit an anorexic midget to assist with the removal of the line going to the fan motor.
I just did the same thing recently, Ya the fan hose is a tight squeeze, fortunately I can slip an arm in just enough to get to it. So I feel your pain.

For those considering Centramatics, I decided to make the plunge today and did some price searching. Found the next best price (by $1) on HitchSource.com, and they offer a price match, so I asked them about it and instead of the $1.10 difference (delta plus 10%) they gave me a 5% off code. Shipping over $99 is free too. Anyone interested in jumping on it can use the code HITCH5. Put a set of 4 for me at just under $250. I searched the usual coupon sites and did not turn up this code, by the way. (Oh and if anyone wonders why Centramatic make both a light truck and H1 balancer with the same lug pattern, but charge a lot more for the H1, I emailed them and they note that the H1 is heavier construction and has much more active weight balancing material in it.)

I recently acquired a truckload of random DRASH stuff, and found a couple vehicle boots in the pile, so I tried one out with the BEOD and it fits just fine.
Now just need to set up a tent for it to connect to.

Today I installed a long awaited tailgate only to discover it was all for nothing since it will not fully open when paired with the rhino spare tire carrier. (Sigh)
That doesn't sound good. Post a picture of how it interferes. I haven't seen a Rhino spare tire carrier that doesn't allow the tailgate to open fully

you have installed something wrong. or you need to lift the lock mechanism up on your Rhino to allow it to swing past 90 degree's.
It will lock at the 90 degree point this may be what your experiencing

beach run today. a couple 5 tons, a medium equipment transport, an M715, a couple LMTVs, and 3 HMMWVs.
It was commented that the HMMWVs were like the little kids of the group, playing around pretty much everywhere on the beach, driving over logs and hills, and just generally having fun.

It will lock at the 90 degree point this may be what your experiencing
Today I learned that by holding the locking mechanism up, the rhino carrier will swing past 90 degrees and allow the tailgate to fully open!

Glad I checked here. Thanks, guys!
