Anyone install the Self Cancelling Turn Signal Switch kit on a M998?

Wanted to ask the collective if anyone has successfully installed the Self Cancelling Turn Signal Switch, kit 57K3222 on a m998?

The only thread I could find was from a non-HUMVEE tractor and they had to make their own cancel ring to fit their column.

Any pitfalls? Is the AMG Kit plug and play?

I am also curious about this, the wheel and column are the same AFAIK, it seems to me I have read where they are fairly week and break often.
$300 seems like allot of money for as little work is involved in manually canceling the turn signals.

I installed it before the prices went up. Easy as pie. Place steering wheel at neutral. Place ring 180 degrees opposite the turn signal controller. Drill tiny holes in steering wheel and fill with tiny self tapping screws. DONE.

I bought the switch from ebay and the ring from kascar. Went on just as action says. My switch was NOS but doesn't work properly. The reset lever has to be cycled two times for cancelation of left turn. Only one cycle for right turn. I didn't install until after my return window was expired. It's only half bad.lol Now I only have to remember to manually cancel a left turn.

You have 45 days to return a defective device on Fleabay, no matter what the seller says

Well, I bit and ordered the "kit" from Federal Military Parts.

Horrible experience. Order sat for a week and I had to nag them to ship it.

Received it and the "Kit" that was supposed to be "Turn Signal Control Arm Switch With Canceling Ring" came and it did not have the Canceling Ring. WTF?

So I email them and they say it is not supposed to have the Canceling Ring. They say it does not need a canceling ring? It should work by just installing it.

But there is nothing on the stock steering wheel to engage the switch to flip it back to the center.

They are idiots. I probably should dispute the charge and make them take it back. But looking at the "kit" from other vendors, the switch looks identical but just missing the ring.

I'll probably regret it but instead I ordered the Canceling Ring from another vendor.

No more orders to Federal Military Parts from me.

While it does not say "kit" it is rather ambiguous, they REALLY need to fix that.

The text actually states all you get is a ring while the picture just shows the switch, I would have certainly had them clarify before purchasing, I guess that is a lesson learned.
EDIT, I also found this, if this is what you purchased I would say they definitely owe you a ring and all the installation screws.

The part number quoted IS a "KIT" in the first sale, another mistake on their part.

Sadly, the ring I obtained from Midwest Military did not last long. Theirs was not OEM as it had their name embossed on the part and did not have the "fitting pins". Worked fine a few times till I made a really tight turn at moderate speed where the steering wheel flipped back rather quickly and the tab broke right off.

I may try removing the ring and drilling a small hole in the pin and installing a small screw to see if that hardens it a bit to help it survive.

EDIT: I found that a #6 1 inch sheet metal screw is perfect size. I bored a 3/4" pilot hole on the wheel side of the ring and screwed in the screw into each pin.

Time will only tell if that helps it from breaking off like the cheap POS it is.
