though if you could create a list of ser# and kmown years of manufacture of members trucks
(if known) to help out us new guys

my truck came with (year of man unknown) on paper work and the DMV<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_evil.gif" alt="Evil"> doesnot like that.

might be able to bracket ser# between two known
ser# to help establish year of manufacture.<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_help.gif" alt="Help">

I wish there was a pattern to the numbers, However, because there were so many different manufacturers of the Deuce they didn't all use the same system. Thus, confusion. You can usually look at the axle data plates to get an idea of what year the truck was produced. However, this is not always reliable either, but it can give you a ballpark idea. My example is I have a '67. The axles were manufactured in different months in '65 and '66. The front axle was in '65 and the rears were in different months in '66 but all original to the truck. You kinda get where I'm going with this?.... Good luck.
One last thing. My serial numbers look radically different than yours do too.

It would be nice to know the true year, but for registration purposes, most people simply fill in the blank when the DMV clerk ain't lookin<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_reyes.gif" alt="Reyes">
Had one form 97 come with the Vin number typed in the year and the year typed in the VIN location, had trouble with that one.

Kaiser with a serial # of 36610 and my axles are stamped 12-68

I believe all my info to be correct. The guy I got it from, bought it from DRMO in 4/02. He processed the paper work and got a title. I bought it from him in the first week of Aug. 2002 His title said 1969 so I'm happy<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_wink.gif" alt="Wink">
