This is my obsession. Its a 2.5 ton water purification unit. Pics were taken in front of a friend's house. Luckily I don't live there, those neighbors would run me out of town!

All of the equipment was stripped out when I got it. Eventually it will be my 6x6 backwoods camper as money allows. Got tons of plans for it, such as solar power, backup DC generator (lawnmower engine with 12v alternator), tent stove, propane heat when I am too lazy to gather wood, sink, portable toilet, RV fridge(propane or DC), furniture/beds, and maybe even a solar water heater. Need to win the lotto! For now, all I have in it is some cheap carpeting, an air mattress, and a couple of sealed lead acid batteries to power a portable cd player, a superbright LED night lite, and an 1156 turn signal bulb mounted above the side door.

The entire left side is split horizontally, and opens out to leave you a platform and a sort of roof. Need to do some work on the cable system to get it working properly.

I made up a dual alternator setup to separate the truck system with anything that I add on. It consists of a 24v alternator for the truck batteries that has a 3 groove pulley. The 3rd groove runs a 12v 10SI Delco alternator mounted right above it.

sweet! looks like a great start and lots of fun. I have to admit I have my eye on an M109 a couple blocks from where I live, it's been sitting on the side of the guys house for years and I may just make an offer. A camper/mobile machine shop would be pretty handy

Rattlehead, good looking truck. That expansible box will sure give you plenty more room over an M109. Can't wait to get my M109 done though, that will be a fun camper.

Sweet ride bud! You know how to make us 109 owners jealous! Enjoy the extra room! I'm sure you've looked at my portable store in the member's pics area. I have some more pics in the other (and comsiderably slower) computer I'm trying to get into this computer and uploaded to Chris to host and make one my avitar. The pic of your 45 at night would make an awesome avitar for you I believe. Anyway, enjoy that way cool ride!

Is that the "Winter US & Europe - verdant" four color camouflage pattern with 34079 forest green, 30118 Field drab, 30277 sand and 37038 black? Looks real good.

Good looking truck. I was going to comment that it looks like my area, but then see that it IS my area, SE MI. I'm in Canton if you ever need anything. My neighbors love the truck ever since I pulled out everyone's dead trees with it.

Thanks all for your kind remarks.

Not sure what camo pattern it is, I always had trouble figuring out the different variations. It is different, though I think I like the 3 color better. When people first see it, they usually ask me if I am going to repaint it. Well, at least those non-MV types do. What they mean is if I am going to repaint it in a "normal" color. I just tell them that, well yes the paint is faded pretty good but I don't have enough paint gathered up do redo all 4 colors yet.

Good lookin' truck! I didn't know the water purification body existed until I saw one on a private auction. I wound up buying it. The box is perfect for a camper with room for a bunk above the truck cab and the fold out side is awesome. The only problems I have is the entire roof needs to be replaced and the fire department that had it painted it bright yellow. Oh yeah, it's also a gas engine but nobody's perfect. Good luck with yours.

When a fellow in our South Jersey Chapter MVPA converted his M109, he went to a marina and bought the galley that was in a no longer used cabin cruiser. He got the cabinets, dinette table that converts to a small bed, stove and fridge. Worked out real nice and was cheap to do. The stove and fridge are propane powered, so no electric is needed. One or two bar-b-que propane tanks will last quite a while.

Sure would like to find one of these (or the one on the extra long wheel base) that still had the purification equipment in it.
