Humvee Engine Knocking (yes it's actual knocking, probably)

Again check all you fluids, it sounds like your transmission is slipping badly.

    Nightmare for a noob…….

The fuel pump has a "vent" attached to all the drive components, it can literally fill the geared hubs, diffs, trans/transfer and possibly the engine with diesel. Driving it without fully servicing it and paying attention to the little things can cost you dearly. Start by checking the fluid and...

    New-Old Stock HMMWV?

OMG that truck sounds like crap!!

    New-Old Stock HMMWV?

Also looking at the paperwork I get with these trucks (SF97) GP is the actual seller (owner) of the vehicles. One doc transfers ownership from the gov. to GP and the other transfers ownership from GP to me. I have never seen anything that indicates GP cannot do whatever they want with them...

    New-Old Stock HMMWV?

I think they have a deal with a CA shop to give them the once over, I seriously doubt GP is doing the work.

Where is the Transmission Control valve located?

Any decent transmission shop can rebuild the TH400. Besides "used take out, not tested AS IS" does not sound too promising. If you get it built locally any problems can be handled locally.

    My 2008 4speed R1 (and learning)

The lug nuts came in yesterday :) So I installed a fan thermal switch and put some batteries in and all the lights work except for the right headlight, nothing on dim and dim on bright so I am hopeful it is a wiring issue or the next owner will get incandescent headlights as I ain't gunna pay...

    My 2008 4speed R1 (and learning)

The last one from the same source took over 7 months and the interdiction of a lawyer

    2002 M1123 4L80E Strange Shifting

Is 2300 high? Do you have a 400A alt? I know the three speed trucks turn 2900@60MPH

    My 2008 4speed R1 (and learning)

According GP they do not file the SF97 paperwork until the customer picks up the item, I picked it up on Monday and received the SF97 today, if not a record it must be close! I did notice the fan temp switch is missing, but at least they put in a little plastic plug!

    My 2008 4speed R1 (and learning)

So that 10K GVWR is no joke. This R1 uses the same engine (GEP serpentine) the same remote type PS pump, the same transfer case, same transmission (4L80) and diffs (2.73) as the later A2 trucks. BUT it has 10K hubs, brakes (10.5") and half shafts, kinda a psychobilly truck This means I do have...

    My 2008 4speed R1 (and learning)

Between rain drops I put the R1 into the shop and did a 5 min inspection before getting the dinner bell. The right front half shaft was not removed, it removed itself so there is that small amount of damage to address but I have bigger fish to fry for now, also that brake line is way too close...

    REV overheating - normal?

If it's not hot it is not passing water.

That is the "new" parts number, you can still find plenty using the old parts number 57K0264, I love HPG but $125 for a set of brake pads is a little out there.

    Purchased a 2006 Humvee M1097R1 - Need Help

You will find the part numbers you need in TM 9-2320-280-24P-1 all the TMs needed are free for the downloading at https://www.nsnlookup.com/equipment-intelligence/land/hmmwv The first 8 TMs are what you should start with, especially reading the -10 operators manual.

It is sometimes hard getting the exact parts for an R1, the three speed trucks should be the same as the A1 (UOC AVY)

    2002 M1123 4L80E Strange Shifting

Basically if you look at the direction the shaft moves that is turning the TPS from idle to WOT. Turn the TPS that same direction to up shift earlier, the opposite direction to up shift later.

    My 2008 4speed R1 (and learning)

We had fun unloading it today, the hotshot company that owned my trailer before me put a couple sheets of plywood centered over the axles, not because the deck was bad but to protect the deck, they of course would load smaller heavy loads directly or nearly directly over the axles. Pam could not...
