Fuel level always showing full? MEP-802a Fuel level sending unit replacement.

So does anyone know if there is a updated sending unit for the 803a ?

Fuel level always showing full? MEP-802a Fuel level sending unit replacement.

Exactly why I asked the question. I know the OE sender float design is adjustable. The new sending unit design shown in the video provided would appear to be not adjustable. I am going to remove and attempt to adjust my current sending unit float, if that fails I liked the design on the new part...

Fuel level always showing full? MEP-802a Fuel level sending unit replacement.

I am lazy and for some reason I thought I remembered the 803 had a larger tank. Thanks for your help!

Fuel level always showing full? MEP-802a Fuel level sending unit replacement.

Any idea if the Autometer 3262 is the same float type as in the video? When I search for it it appears that it is the normal float on the end of a rod type of sender. Also would the same gauge work for an 803a or is the tank different? Thanks.

Oil pressure gauge fluctuations normal? Video.

Thanks guys, I don’t think I will loose sleep over it but it will bother me until I rectify it the problem. So you are thinking I have a loose ground at the gauge or elsewhere? Any problem areas to check? Its been a while since I read the TM, I could start there.

Oil pressure gauge fluctuations normal? Video.

https://youtu.be/eJ4JXyveyro I assume this is normal but because I stress too much I am going to ask you guys anyway! Performing a maintenance run while it is 90°F and super humid in Michigan today and noticed the oil pressure gauge moving a little without load change. Frequency seems steady...

MEP 803a No Fuel Light - One possible problem and solution

Thanks for the help guys! It really is a simple job but I was trying to keep it close to how I found it so I end up with the floats very close to the fuel fill tube holder deal. At the moment I cannot picture what the fuel pickup is as I am not out by the unit but if you call the side/radiator...

MEP 803a No Fuel Light - One possible problem and solution

So I finally found some time to dig into the float issue and I can’t figure out what the proper orientation of the float assembly. I did read the TM and it’s main reference to the orientation of the assembly is “same as when removed”. Any chance someone can post a pic of the float from the...

Looks like a partial answer to my question, so I should go ahead and take the cover off and loosen the collar?

MEP 803a No Fuel Light - One possible problem and solution

Funny that you posted this issue, at the moment I am having a similar issue (opposite). The last power outage I had a power surge from the 803 before it ran out of fuel, it did not trip the low fuel light / shutdown. I also felt around in the Tank for the lower float switch and it also seems...

Removing the switching stress from K1 on 803a

Well the whole "bake a cake" thing would be complicated for me, unless I can talk her into doing that for me! If the 803 was running it may wet stack by the time I figure out how to start the oven!

Removing the switching stress from K1 on 803a

This was my theory also, one thing that I am sure most would agree on would be loaded vs. no load is good for engine life. I guess the question is if I was going to bed with no air conditioning load, what would be a decent load for the night? maybe 20% or 2000w or so? maybe one 1500w heater...

Removing the switching stress from K1 on 803a

The whole kit I guess, was thinking 55 gallon drums at first but I did see another post with a picture of a smaller semi tank mounted on the front of the 803 trailer and it looked like a nice setup. I have the 803 off the trailer at the moment and I am going back and fourth on how I want to set...

Removing the switching stress from K1 on 803a

Again, good info! I will only run the extra heater(s) if I am in a long term outage and for the bi-monthly exercise. 1500w heaters can he had for around $16 each at walmart, makes for an simple/easy way to load the set when needed. Also makes for a nice warm basement which was nice in the ice...
