Do you recommend a brand? Any idea on how much fluid needed. I read the TM and they only mention it as a follow on task without detail. Unless I am missing a TM.
What are people using for gear oil? I assume 75-90 gear oil but any preferred brands? I'm usually a Mobil 1 fan but Ive heard mixed results with their gear oil.
The tricky part will be insurance I suggest Haggerty they are cheap and no hassles. When I just registered mine I used Plymouth Rock and they were raping me for $2k a year cuz no one else would do it at the time in MA.
If you have a NH title it should be straight forward. What do you have for a Vin? That's going to be the red flag for them but they should register it no issue.

Was driving the truck to the beach the other day and I started getting a really loud whine once it was all warmed up. Was only occurring when it was moving and in gear and sounds to be coming from the engine cover area. Since it was only doing it when in gear and moving and not in neutral and...
Quick question reviving this project. What is everyone running for v belts? I have the military belts that came with the 200 amp kit but they are rubbish. They slip constantly. Also anyone know the sizes or part numbers of good belts so I dont have to take off to measure to only wait while I...
Thank you for the encouragement. I flushed the system four times this morning before work. Definitely an improvement when driving not turning while idling. I'll have to try the bleeding procedure. The bleeder valve on the steering box as you can image is pretty rough but I'll keep everyone...
Wanted to send an update. Took longer to get to this than I wanted but such is life. Got the powersteering pump out. I dropped it from the bottom so I didn't have to remove the alternator and switched the pulley around with no issues. Installing new belts wasn't hard at all. I feed one in at a...
I 100% agree I use glue every time but the Elmers purple glue haha. Not sure if it makes a difference. Great idea on two applications. I use a glass bed.
I think you are right the pulley looks to be installed backwards. I ran the 200amp wire to the batteries and started the truck. Tested it and the batteries are charging and everything seems to be good generator wise. I've been short on time lately and the heat has been crazy like the rest of...
Drove it in so it was flush with the output shaft just like the PS pump I replaced. Not the best picture but shows the offset I am dealing with. Also while on the subject of pulleys any suggestions on an easy way of getting the belts over over the coolant line attached to the fan clutch...
This is very helpful. Thank you. I'm going to have to take a picture of the PS so I can show what I am trying to explain. The PS has 4 grooves but the 4th sticks out past all the other pulleys.
I also do not have install instructions. I was working off just my basic knowledge and a couple drawings I found online. How would I know if I fried the regulator?
Can you explain further explain what you mean by PS pump issue? To be clear when the 60 amp was in I had all 4 belts on with no alignment issues.
Any advice or thoughts on why my power steering pump isnt lined up with the new 200 amp bracket?
Its tricky to print with an enclosure is a smart move. I can share my print settings whenever you are ready to try them. Bed adhesion is the hardest part to figure out in my experience. I still will have issues if one little thing is off.
Thanks for the quick reply! I attached two pics. You are corrected I did have the complete kit but I didn't use the heavy charging cables. I was under the impression that was only needed if you were drawing that kind of power. I went with 200 amp cuz I got it at a great price and knew they...
