It goes inline of terminal #8 on the voltage regulator.
Also note the blue disk in between terminals 7 and 8, this is known as the "Varistor" mod.
It helps keep the voltage regulator from frying in the first place.
Many great threads on this...
I just noticed your Genset doesn't have the Quad fuse mod installed.
Personally I would not run the generator any more than absolutely necessary and not put a load on it until that's fixed.
I checked the schematic, S17 (Emergency Stop Button) does simply make or break those 2 Wires. So bridging them is perfectly fine, just make sure they can't short out on the panel.
Let the fuel pump run for 3-5 min. That should mostly purge the fuel system.
I think there is a screw on top of the small canister filter you can loosen to purge up to that point.
I wouldn't recommend randomly linking wires. Put the dead crank switch in Normal and see if you get power at the panel.
If not check for power on one of the hanging wires. If you have 24v on one and not the other it's possible that linking will work.
But you should really trace the wires to see...
I noticed your emergency stop switch is completely gone. I know if it's pushed in it cuts DC power to the panel, maybe if it's missing it won't send power either.
If that's the case we just need to bypass it.
