These are from spring 2006. Check out the dust after seeing sunlight after almost 10 years of garaged slumber....Bad gas, Bad misfire rotted 1969 tires and only 1 out of 8 brake shoes would move. This was the definition of a white knucke test drive.
The old soldier finally drove it's first miles of 2018. A bit brisk as a convertible but alteast the temperature is in the positive today. I was going through "flathead and treated canvas" withdrawal.

I too wanted to go for a New Year's drive.. Started the truck, rolled it out and found that the cold had killed the battery in the wife's truck that was blocking my path. So much for that..Guess I wasn't the only one. When I did track down the correct size/cca, there was a line at the counter...
New comp. Test...engine warm, throttle wide open, all plugs removed...1-6..90/95/90/95/100/100. Head gasket is still bubbling by cylinder 1. No oil in gas and no discoloration or moisture in exhaust. I know the valves are due for an adjustment because I can hear the clattering.
Got a new gauge this morning, so I will retest tomorrow. Misfire turned out to be dying pertronix unit...maybe from blowing coil. It was sparking from center of coil to positive terminal. Put the old points plate back in temporarily and replaced coil again to be safe. Used an air hose on low psi...
