I finally got around to messing with the MEP-016a I bought like 8 years ago.
She started after a bit of work (a cobbled fuel source because of a rotten line), She runs and generates power (at least from the convenience outlets)
"Kill" switch is wired backwards or rotated 180 degrees...
OK, So I notice that the dataplate on the side of my MEP-016a is missing... 3 of the 4 drive screws are there holding fragments of it.
here's one from another auction and you can see the plate.
The TM lists NSN 9905-00-254-9239. I'm not seeing anywhere, Which Generic would...
I'm debating about having a canvas (or rubberized vinyl) cover made for the MEP-016A I'm working on. It's going to be stored in an open air "overhang" on the side of my garage. I'n not sure if it's a good idea or not to have a fitted cover on it or just leave it uncovered.
Here you guys go:

So I've got the Mep-016a... it's a bit of a bear to drag around at 275# trying to figure out a way without making too many mods to it to make it easier to move...
bushings thru one of the cross tubes w/ and axle & tires and some "wheelbarow" style handles on top
OK, so last night I decide it's time to dig the MEP-016a out and give it the lookover I've been postponing since I got it home. Some Yeahoo stuck 2 or 3 of the "packet envelopes" the ones for shipping invoices right on the operationg dataplate.....
What's the best way to remove the...
With it getting harder and harder to sneak small projects into work to have the welders fix 'em... I decided to bite the bullet and get a small 110v welder.
After looking around and comparing all the features I decided to go with one from Northern Tool.
