I was crawling around under the Deuce today doing some PM, and discovered a bolt hole with no bolt on the rear of my transmission. The bolt hole is just to the left of the countershaft rear bearing cover, but it does not appear to be one of the cover bolts.
It appears to be a 3/8" fine thread...
I went with the Napa NP KS6180 keyed ignition switch that devilman96 suggested, cost me $18.80 at the local NAPA store. The NAPA switch takes a 3/4" double "D" mounting hole (like a round hole with a flat on each side to keep the switch from rotating, the top and bottom of the hole are round and...
It gets worse than that. I used to be a Paramedic, had a run on a guy who tried to inflate a split rim by leaning it up against the side of his shop and inflating it with a hand chuck. The ring blew off and caught him square in the chest. All we could do was bag him up, he was DOS (Dead on...
NAPA's search engine is really F***ed up. I put in the NAPA #KS6180 from devilman96's post above, it came up with a listing "Ignition Starter Switch ECHKS610", a nice looking switch which I guess is the one devilman96 is using. But if you do a Keyword search for "Ignition Starter Switch", it...
M35a2cowner - I'd like to see a photo of where you mountted the switch. Do you have the NAPA part number? Its a b**** trying to search the NAPA site to find most things, at least the oddball stuff I'm interested in!
My second best idea was to use a hidden battery disconnect switch as suggested, AND hang a regular keyed ignition switch conveniently below the dash. Except instead of wiring the ignition switch to the start circuit, I'd wire it to the air horn solenoid maybe with a 24V flasher in series. Should...
Sorry Ken. I KNOW I got a message from you yesterday, and I KNOW I sent you a reply. I just checked my emails and for some reason my reply was addressed to me, not to you! I just sent you another email - hope you get this one, this time it is addressed to YOU! -- Lee
Does anyone have an idea of the current load handled by the accessory (master) switch in a Deuce? I am aware that this switch is a DPST switch with two inputs (two circuits numbered #11, which are split off circuit #15, the +24V feed from the light switch) and two outputs (circuit #1, which...
UPDATE - I've had so many responses on the Budd Wheel combo socket that I went back to the place where I bought them and talked the guy into a quantity discount! The new Steel Soldiers price will be $19.00 delivered USPS Priority Mail. Anyone who has already sent me payment will get a $2.00...
Jim - Nice set of sockets for the price from Harbor Freight. I see it does have the 1-1/2" socket but you'd still need the 13/16" square for the inner dual stud. Agree with your comments on the Robo Impact, whomever put that lug nut on used something big and whaled on it for a long time. BTW...
You got lucky, the current price at NAPA on line is $53.19!

Just a heads up, I have these are listed in the classified ads:
I ran across these Budd Wheel combo sockets at a local store. They are a one piece socket with a 1-1/2 hex for the lug nut, and a recessed 13/16" square for the inner dual stud. They really work neat - remove the outer wheel lug...
Interesting, I was thinking of posting this same question myself yesterday and ran out of time so I didn't get around to it. At around 50 mph or so my Deuce starts a rythmetic vibration reminiscent of what I used to feel in my car if a wheel was out of balance, so I'm guessing I've got one or...
I've been corresponding with a fellow Deuce owner on the MV Net regarding the "TD" engine blocks. He wrote Hercules about this issue, following is his email to me with the response from Hercules:
"Morning Lee,
I went and wrote to Hercules Engine Parts company formerly Hercules engines. I...
From what I have read, you can make excellent Biodiesel from WVO with a lot of animal fat content IF you use the 2 stage acid/base process. Higher conversion ratios and much less glycerin, but NOT for the novice Biodiesel maker!

I live in a very rural area, so my choices for WVO sources are pretty limited. The county I live in is over half State and Federal forests, our phone book is about 1/3 the size of a typical bible, and has the complete white and yellow page and governmental listings for 3 full counties and most...
Bjorn - Another nice avatar!
Jim, Ken - I've been bitten by the ungrounded ground bug so many times my SOP when dealing with electrical components is to chuck a wire brush in my cordless drill, buff the ground ring terminal & metal it attaches to down to bright metal, coat both well with...
Stopped off at the local BK the other day and asked the manager there what they do with thier WVO. She said they dump it in a tank and eventually it disappears. I asked if I could take some, she said she didn't know if they pay to have it removed or get paid for it and gave me the phone number...
