Reproduction smoke grenade control box - Blank Version COMPLETE!

Thanks! Your info was very helpful in making this happen :) The only holes I engineered to print are small pilot holes for attaching the box cover to the base. Everything else I left solid for drilling holes of the desired size and location for any hardware. The print was made with zero...

    Curious old M49 fuel truck

I think A61 is supposed to be an air pack (air-assisted brake booster). A22 looks like some kind of bracket.

    Mystery Liquids

Good to know! My truck came with red stuff in it, but I have no idea if that was a military thing or a previous private owner thing 🤷‍♂️

    Mystery Liquids

It should be red coolant. I've been told diesels like the red stuff more. I put red stuff in my truck anyway.

    air pressure too high?

I think there should be a pressure safety valve at the air tanks. If you wanted you could add a second one just off the compressor. That was a M35A3 MWO that I applied since my truck never got it in-service.

My Whistler 'C' Turbo coming to life!

You know, if you really wanted the turbo to whistle, a little bit of fabrication would get you a jet engine with a centrifugal compressor  A turbojet that size can make a lot of things whistle!

    Replacing M35A2 Wheel Bearing Races

Thanks for weighing them! I did the bearings on my truck a couple years ago and screwed up my lower back for a day due to following poor lifting form getting a hub-drum assembly off the axle on my first-ever try. I figured the assembly had to weigh somewhere around 70-80 lbs. I wasn't too far...

My Whistler 'C' Turbo coming to life!

Congratulations on getting your dream turbo rebuilt! Funny enough a few weeks ago here someone was swapping their C turbo with a D turbo :ROFLMAO:

    Deuce VIN's..

If a previous private owner didn't add the winch, sometimes that stuff was added or removed by the Army. Sometimes hood numbers and data plates were swapped between trucks so that units tried to keep trucks they liked and got rid of the ones they didn't. And I say "try" because sometimes units...

    Curious old M49 fuel truck

I found a few pages in my TM collection that might help you out. They might be a little too close-up in detail as I can't quite figure out where the components in some of the pictures are located. Please find the PDF attached. When you're done with your model, please share some pictures :)

    Fuel density compensator question

I think many multifuel owners here have deliberately removed their FDC. I think I've even seen MWO stickers indicating the military removed them. I guess they're pretty problematic (I have no first-hand knowledge of that since I don't have a multifuel truck). It seems like a neat device to...

    D Turbo

I'm just thinking about all the posts I've read here in the past about everyone and their dog wanting a whistler turbo. Look how far we've come :ROFLMAO: I guess I've never experienced a loud turbo. The turbo that came with the Cat 3116 in my deuce has a pleasant whine to it, but definitely...

    Piston assessment

I think the pistons look alright. I don't see any surface cracks or edge damage. I'd run it too.

    D Turbo

You should be wearing hearing protection anyway, right? :p One of these days I'll get one of the old multifuel trucks and experience the noise :driver:

Just bought my deuce, first had a ticking noise, now its knocking

How resistant are the multifuel and straight-diesel motors to rod bearing damage? My Savana 3500 spun a bearing on a 350 Vortec and trashed the motor. It's amazing it ran well enough to get it on a rollback on its way to an engine replacement o_O

    M35a3 stereo system

Yeah, the deuces only have space for two batteries in the box under the passenger-side door.

Getting started from scratch with a Deuce in 2024?

Add no-rear-hub-flip required for singles and some longer service intervals to that list! The 5-tons are definitely more truck than the deuce, especially in the durability department. But I guess they aren't as practical to take grocery shopping, as much as I might take a wrecker out for a...

A3 compressor, air system, relief valve

My A3 shows air on the gauge about 2 or 3 minutes after startup. Once the compressor cuts off, the air dryer discharges. The air dryer discharges every time the compressor cuts off. I find it odd your gauge isn't working right. It's building air and blowing the safety and you're showing zero...

A3 compressor, air system, relief valve

I'll see if I can help and learn something at the same time. I really should get more familiar with the air system on my M35A3. Are you getting a warning buzzer with zero air pressure at the gauge? Or is the buzzer not sounding at all?
