    Air Pack Questions

I replaced the vents on my truck last year. Got the best price from armyjeepparts.com. I called them to ask about the vent style and the guy got confused when I mentioned it was for an M35 :ROFLMAO: The M38A1 uses the same vents, maybe the M151 too? Anyway when I replaced my vents the...

My wife and I have a small typewriter collection. I think I'll be searching for these units now ❤

    Engine lost Power

Different math for different things! For my line of work I do a lot of unit conversions. kWh to MMBtu to therms to gal per MMBtu, and across different types of fuel... People deal with energy in a lot of ways!⚡ ANYWAY for the LDT it looks like you need 64 lb/hr. So that would be 9 GPH or...

    Engine lost Power

Perhaps I can help with this and include a math lesson for those who need a refresher :) The answers are in green if that's all you want :p According to Hometowne Energy, diesel fuel weighs about 7.1 lbs/gal. It seems you need GPH or GPM. I'll start with GPH here since the units in the TM are...

    Teletypewriter

So first, I've never paid any attention to this board before, so this is nice! Second, what does one have to do to get two of these to talk to each other? I want to get two now! Maybe that'll let me justify getting a pair of M109A3s or something :p

    20,000 pound winch

I agree with installing a commercially-available electric winch. I think a great use for a 20000-lb winch is on the front bumper of a 5-ton ;)

    Jatonka, full speed ahead

With everyone mentioning TMs I didn't think you left? :p Seriously though, your website is where I got my first M35A3 TMs when I bought my truck!

How to remove deuce soft top

I tried to get the soft top off my cab today. I don't think it's been removed for at least 15 years. The super rope is all rotted away so only the channels and snap-turning thingies are keeping the top on the truck. This thread and the M35 TM I have were helpful! I'll add some clarification...

    Oshkosh P-4 Fire Crashtruck Preservation

And now we know the rest of the story! Thank you for joining the site and I look forward to seeing part 2 of your progress! Your wife's a good catch there! Mine wants a slantback HMMWV, but it's been a bear convincing her into getting a 5-ton wrecker :ROFLMAO: I guess I'll take what I can get!

    Current price of M35a2

If you know what you're doing, you can get a title for a titleless truck. A guy up near me did that for an old 5-ton. But I think it's almost always easier to get something that comes with a title. Otherwise you jump through hoops to make it legal or you're buying a parts truck.

    Current price of M35a2

Maybe he's one of those types who'd sell it for the right price.🤷‍♂️ I'd sell mine for $60K

    Current price of M35a2

The prices I observed are from trucks with titles or transferable registrations. I've seen M105 trailers go between $1000 and $3000. The more expensive ones appear in great shape and often include tarp and bows. The M105A3 trailers tend to be the most expensive regardless of the seller...

    Current price of M35a2

I've still seen deuces running and driving from $6000-$10000 depending on body condition. One yahoo near me has a beat-looking M109A3 for sale for $18000 - they clearly don't know what the truck's worth

That's a neat machine! What plastics can it print with?

M35A3 Rim Restoration and Tire Swap Project (Picture-Heavy)

My leaks have been pretty consistent since I've done this project. Three tires barely lose air over months of storage. Two lose a bit more air but not enough to go flat over that time frame. One tire loses all its air in a month and has a jack stand under the axle any time the vehicle isn't...

    Oshkosh P-4 Fire Crashtruck Preservation

Good to know, thanks! A good thing for the heavy truck crowd to know (y) And nice truck you have there  Whenever I may get a 5-ton I'd consider a wheel-tire combination like that!

M35A2 Rear Spring Bearing Block Wear / Repair

He's on here as @Jeepsinker . He's made excellent videos! Also - trunion! That's what the spring seat pivot is called! Thanks for the reminder :) I love how Firefox thinks that "trunion" is a misspelled word. "Grunion" - really? What is that even? :ROFLMAO:

M35A3 Rim Restoration and Tire Swap Project (Picture-Heavy)

Last year I bought the $60 1/2" impact wrench from Harbor Freight. I haven't tried it on the rims yet, but it got the lug nuts off like they weren't there! Whenever the wheels come up in conversation, I always tell people that the tire swap made me lose 10 lbs, which is true! :ROFLMAO...

M35A2 Rear Spring Bearing Block Wear / Repair

The tandem axles pivot vertically on what's called a "spring seat". The spring seat bearings are under round caps on either end of the spring seat bracket, which holds the whole spring seat assembly together to the frame. The spring seat bearings need to be adjusted every 6000 miles, I...

    Oshkosh P-4 Fire Crashtruck Preservation

How close are 5-ton rims to the 10-lug rims we see on most heavy commercial trucks? I thought they were interchangeable.
