Trailworthyfab had on their website that to order a set of PVC beadlocks they wanted to know the exact tire you were using.
This was because the old rubber beadlock/runflat had some squish to it, and wouldn't have issues if the diameter of the bead was a little different between tire brands...
So I was looking back over some other pages, and saw where the serial numbers for M1097R1 are broken down to what transmission they have.
Your serial number is outside of the ranges listed on that page, so you will need to verify if it is actually a 4 speed or if it's a 3 speed transmission.
If...
So the M1097 trucks (all of them) will be in the first series of HMMWV manuals.
M1097A2 is the same as an M998A2 except it is considered the "heavy" variant.
Here are all the HMMWV manuals for the M998 through M998A2 (the first 3 generations of HMMWV, which is everything that does NOT have...
Then I believe that is a 4 speed truck.
Should be pretty much the same as the M1097A2 for repairs and parts unless they did something really different (and I haven't heard anyone who bought one of these say anything like that)
Depends on the serial number, but if it is a 3 speed transmission for the most part you treat it like the M1097A1, and if it's a 4 speed you'll treat it like the M1097A2 when looking for parts.
The M1097R1 trucks were rebuilt with a serial number that doesn't match the regular line of trucks...
CAMO is a member here.
not just a HMMWV thing, but he's the one making aftermarket boxes to replace the glow plug controller with something that isn't going to fail on you at random.
BEOD is the Body, Explosive Ordnance Disposal.
Accoding to my buddy that just retired from EOD, he figured that...
but a belt also won't fix a pulley alignment issue.
the extra resistance from the compressor engaging might be pulling something out of alignment.
Check to make sure the rear bracket holding the generator doesn't have a sheared off bolt at the exhaust manifold. That was one of the signs that my...
when my belt system was squeaking/squealing, it was the bolts holding the generator/power steering bracket were loose/sheared, causing the belt to be a little out of alignment.
Remove the belt and spin everything by hand. Should move relatively freely.
Can also try putting the belt on...
it's a possibility, but haven't seen any nets of about the right size that are military type. At least none in my price range.
I have a cousin that has a commercial upholstery shop that I need to go visit with a bunch of different stuff to get either fixed or modified.
First thought is put some water inside and see if it's water soluble and easy to remove.
Second thought would be clean/scrape out as much as you can, then don't worry about it.
As long as it isn't impeding the antifreeze from being able to move around the tire, then it shouldn't be an issue...
Wolfer/COMTAC is an importer of cheap chinese junk, with a known high failure rate.
"TACOM" isn't a brand, it's a subordinate command of Army Material Command. They aren't a manufacturer, just the supply system for the Army.
Highlighted section of the description is claiming it's both...
About the only thing I've had trouble with out on the jeep trails is I barely fit in spots they have plenty of room in, at least older jeeps. The newer jeeps have turned into monstrosities in comparison.
The M1123 is identical to the M998A2 except for a few things having to do with the rear bumper not being installed on the M1123 and the fording kit already installed.
A few other things as well, but those are the main ones.
Pretty much all HMMWVs are the same basic components no matter what...
For heat/Aircon you'll want either an M1123 with the RedDot system, or an ECV/REV truck.
Probably the ECV/REV since the RedDot takes up a lot of space.
For sound deadening, you might as well just buy an H1.
For the amount of work to properly strip down the truck, apply a good quality sound...
Trailer tongue weight isn't going to be a huge amount, so I'd say find a 5k rated tongue jack and not worry about it. The original jack assembly adds a LOT of tongue weight and is a bit of a pain in the butt to deal with. Unless you're a purist (and you obviously aren't for this trailer) there...
Lots of discussions about this in the HMMWV forum (exact same wheel/tire assembly used for both).
only one I found mentioning stock offset was this
The stock HMMWV wheels are +63.5 offset. 9" rim width, 7 inch backspacing = 2.5" + offset = 63.5mm+ offset
(as far as I know, the math is 1/2 the...
First time I've seen an ABS pipe extension like that, but about once a year or so someone posts something about the truck having no power under load, and it ends up being that cap sitting down too far onto the pipe.
Glad you figured it out and managed to fix it.
And also, thanks for posting...
it was relighting the diesel potbelly stoves that did the flash burns for us.
One female soldier decided to relight it while hot using the full cup of diesel fuel like instructions say for cold.
Singed her eyebrows and eyeballs, but was back on duty when we got out of the field.
She wasn't the...
The first couple "free shipping" sales they left oversized items like the windshield glass at the regular price. That first christmas I bought 3 of them for $105 shipped.
Then I think they realized they were losing a lot of money because of that, and they started bumping up the price on some...
