While all of this has been going on I have been working with my regular insurer and to their credit they are attempting to help.
They just called me with a question that knocked me for a loop. It has not been covered in any of the zillions of forum threads on insurance. I even googled it and...
The conversation went like this:
Hello, state farm
hi, this is john doe, and I would like to speak to james doe (the agent)
what about?
the possibility of insuring a vehicle with state farm
ok, first you must give me your drivers license number, dob and ssn
even to ask him...
Advice my old man gave me many years ago (he was NYPD): Driving without registration is a misdemeanor, driving without insurance is a felony.
You can get insurance without a registration or title.
Yes, and there is a big difference between having a general introductory conversation before you get into the gory details.
It's how business is done, it's how relationships are done, it's how the world works.
Any business whose first questions are those is either ignorant or arrogant. I...
So, based on how many of you are happy with State Farm, today I called my local SF agent. He would not even say hello to me unless I gave him my driver's license number, DOB and SSN. Needless to say I will not go any further with State Farm since there was no need for this information to be...
That's right. And also why you need to read the written policy regardless of what anyone says. When the chips are down the only thing that counts is what it says in the policy. Nothing he or she said means a thing.
I've used Hagerty for years (but never for a MV). Today I called them to insure the Deuce I just bought.
You would not believe the Mickey Mouse, illogical requirements they came up with. Namely: the truck is at my location A, but they want it garaged at my location B, which is fine. BUT the...
Thanks for taking the time to post these photos. This is one of the olive drabs I like, and in fact the color I need (along with the 383 substitute) for various touch-ups. The S-W color is very good to know.
There is another color, even darker and with a touch of brown (at least, it appears...
I have not, only in web pictures, and admittedly that is not too accurate. I am partial to that solid olive drab that was kind of dark and probably did have a little brown in it. That was the color that predominated when I was in the Service, it might have been a leftover WWII/Korea color or...
Nice job on the paint and thank you for the tip on the BEHR paint. My M35 needs some touch-ups and the 383 CARC substitute will be handy and cost-effective. It will also be good for my M416 trailer.
Question: has anyone got the BEHR codes for Gillespie 24087 paint?
So far, the truck seems ok. It has a bit of a roll at idle. I tried to record a video to post, but my cell phone did not cooperate. The roll sounds a lot like that you might hear from any inline 6; perhaps it is accentuated by the straight pipe? I'll get a video posted and if need be, start...
That sounds good. I'll have to see if my Deuce has the notches. I have the same problem, trying to swing my knee sideways between the wheel and the door. Knees are not hips, though: they only bend one way.
Now we're cooking. How do the pedals adjust? I assume you readjust a stop underneath and then readjust free play.
That and a thinner seatback cushion might do the trick.
My Deuce has the spring seat and, from the various threads I searched, the box seat offers more legroom.
On one of those threads, someone asked if you can swap the passenger bench and the spring driver's seat. That would definitely give a bit more leg room. The question was not answered...
