I'm going with no bows or canvas or troop seats but with just the head board.... and right now as hot as it is i like it with out the doors... feels much better crusing down the road.
michigandon i dont think that would bolt in place of the military pintle... they are made to swivel and they mount with a big bolt sticking through the frame.
i dont know anybody around here with a tow bar for a military vehicle or i dont know of a old person towbar with a pintel ring on it. The buddy will be with me any way but it will be a long drive by your self i think the trip is 600 miles. any other ideas. thanks
I see what your saying... About the tail lights and everything... Is there anything I could build to hook in the pintel hitch that would go to a Reese hitch or a 2" ball
I can't see in that picture how his was made or maybe I missed it... I just thought about one of those Reese style hitches that bolt to the bottom of a bumper with 2 3/4" bolts might be a possibility just drive the truck off the lot to a truck stop and drill the 2 holes and bolt it up shouldn't...
Just needing the measurement of from the pintel hitch to the ground from a truck with 11.00s on it. Also does any one know a way to put a Reese style hitch behind a m818 so I could pull a car dolley. Will need to be an easy way so that I can pull the car dolley with my vehicle and then hook...
another way to put my questions is will the trailer plug from a m818 plug into the back of a deuce... I am wanting to use one from a deuce if it will work.

d. Where you bought it----- GL in Mississippi
e. Bumper numbers if you can legibly read them------ 3656 and under that GS-62
thanks alot ole boy...
ok thank you TY... I will need to get the plug from a deuce and install in my box for the m818 to plug into. then I will run a cord out of my box that will go to civy trailers....
i am doing this conversion so I can pull civy trailers. but i want to keep my standard plug. i want to also be able to remove the box of convertors and and use them on another tractor if i want. i just need to know what plug i will need for my m818 to plug into. I dont have it here yet its still...
no no no... i do not want to pull a 105 with a m818... I want to do this http://www.steelsoldiers.com/5-ton-up/32440-m818-24volt-12volt-trailer-lights.html but instead of cutting the end off coming from the truck i want to plug it into the box or panel instead of wiring it solid like this guy...
I am wanting to know if the trailer light plug for the 5th wheels trailers on a M818 the same as the trailer plug on a M105. if this dont make sense tell me and i'll explain it better or at least try
Need a M818 tractor runs and drives from Camp Shelby Mississippi to South Central KY. pretty much any where in Kentucky but 42642 is the zip where I live.
I am new to the 5-ton but i have a M818 on the way and would like to know wich is correct... On my deuce i turn the batteries off then the engine but just because the engine kill handle is hard to get ahold of while the battery switch is on.
NIIN/NSN report from IHS, The Source for Critical Information and Insight (tm)
here is a link to the info and it says 12v if i'm not mistaken. or does it mean that each battery is 12 volts
