I lost a PS return line and most all of the fluid while on the road one time and 10wt wasn't available to put back in. After a roadside hose replacement I went with a couple jugs of Napa PS fluid to get me home with the intention of replacing it with the 10 wt. That was 3 years ago I have not...
Welcome to the SS family. You should plan a couple extra days in Beaufort. It's a beautiful town/area. Lots of spanish moss hanging from the huge live oaks, old red brick buildings, tall palms, etc. I was down there a couple weeks ago on Lady and Harbor Islands kayaking and loved it. Parts of...
Prefer the soft tops also. Especially the newer soft tops with rubber rope, they seal well to the cab. There is no difference in insulating noise or cold between the two.
Weren't those tops for the 900 series? Few years back there were a bunch of new hard top kits that were auctioned and guys were paying in the $800+ range. Problems started when they started trying to put them on deuces and 800 series. They were too wide. Perfect fit for the 900 trucks...
Looks like I won't be able to make it either. I do need an 800 series battery cover/step though, if anyone has a decent one they can part with. PM me. If you can get it to Ted, I can get it from him. Thanks Ted! ;)
You got it right. The 'elbow valve' mounts on the right side firewall under the dash. There should be a knockout for it. It controls the airflow from the heater to the diverter. One of your control cables will attach to that and the other control cable goes to the diverter to control floor...

EDIT. Just read your other thread farther down. You've been busy!
The 'rack' with the hinges on one end and the latch on the other (pictured in post 59), is for an M101 trailer. It's one side of the rear gate. Right side I believe.
Good luck with the sale and the career. You'll get another MV down the road now that you have the addiction. You'll be back, they always come back... ;-)
I did a search and came up with some pics that may help you.

The diverter box I have pictured is for the M35. The 5 ton will be reversed.
Again, go to manual and you will find all the parts and #'s you will need...
It installs on the passenger side. The heater sets on a mounting plate that is mounted above the muffler. My 818 had no heater until I put one in it. I have a bunch of pictures of the process but can't access them at the moment. I'll work on getting them up.
The diverter box inside of the cab...
