Yeah, I don't know how well changing the timing, etc. would work if the head injects less fuel. There is an old retired injection guru somewhere around my town, maybe I will track him down and see what he knows.
Guy on the FB M35A2 group just snagged a LDS 465 1A pump for $180.
Thanks. I made it about half way through that thread before I got tired and tired of wading, but I have read the fuel adjustment in the LDS TS TM and seen the info elsewhere on the forum. I like the adjustable FDC cable thread. I will turn it up once I get gauges.
I wonder what else there is...
Does anyone know how low one can air down the old style split rims with tubes before the tires start to walk on the wheels and tear the tubes/valve stems up?
Thanks
Sure would be nice to get our hands on a lot of old engines and tear them down like David Doyle studying trucks. Neighbor yard had a few multis in military sealed crates. No one runs them anymore, so when scrap prices were high, they scrapped them. Makes me sick to my stomach, and worse if my...
Excellent, Sounds good to me. Good to hear from a pro. Mine had a 4amp and looked like it might've been original. Seems like the ones I saw for sale were new old stock and were two amp. I think somewhere I even saw a TM that said two amp. But I bet you three or 4 is fine. Sounds like we'll know...
Napa has fuses, but didn't say they were slow blow. I'm pretty sure it's 2amp based on what I've read everywhere. Warm diesel fuel is explosive, danger! Its gets plenty hot on a warm day after it's been pumped up to the hot engine and returned a few times. Once it's warm enough to evaporate...
One of the MV websites had the fuses for $12.00 ea IIRC.
If anyone needs some, I could try to get extra. Gotta go to the next town over.
...or I suppose you can order them from RS.
Old style cam shaft...that's a new one. Last night I was reading the oil anti-drain back valve thread until I was too tired to follow. I wonder what other improvement bits of knowledge are out there to learn.
I was reading the LDS465 troubleshooting manual the other night (good info, read it!)...
I searched the forum some and didn't find the number, so I found it on radioshack based of what I found by searching and the fuse from my truck. Figured I'd post it for the next guy. I'm pretty sure it is the correct fuse, maybe some of you more experienced can confirm...
What a bummer. Looks like an LD non turbo pump on my LDS. Doesn't have the red paint like the rest of the engine, so I bet it got changed. I think the HH number is 90100A
I'm researching, but does anyone know what the differences in the pumps are? I think I read a post by Rayzer that might...
Thanks, I will try again more carefully. I head read about the stripper on G503 on saving hood numbers on Jeeps. they said you had to get the timing just right...I agree with you, might take the letters with it. They are definitely not as durable as the OD.
I was using a mini air sander with...
Been doing lots of reading on SS and sitting back trying to figure out what I'm going to do with the thing a bit. Started out as a mess-around junker project, then finding it's likely a USMC A1, I wonder how rare it is and how much affect that should have on what I do with it.
The thing is...
