Help with ID on '71 USBP Jeep

Yeah, I'm a dough-head. I somehow got it in my head that it wasn't a normal VIN since it didn't have any letters. After I looked at some dofferent decoding info closer, it made sense. Thanks.

Help with ID on '71 USBP Jeep

Trying to find some info on the histo/org eqpt of this Jeep. Pretty sure it was USBP. Any pointers? Everything I've found for info is for newer or older Jeeps, and my serial/VIN has no letters... This is beat up but says something about a special sales order. Lots more pics here...

2.5 tons on other vehicles - brakes?

Why doesn't anyone run the deuce drums? Just the weight of the drums or what? They're air over hyd so I don't see why a guy couldn't make them work. Thinking about turning my Cummins Dodge street/trail truck into more of a trail/street truck. I can get 46" michelins cheap, just needa a set of...

Do we have an official Bobbed Deuce picture thread? If not, here it is! Post em!

Cool. Looks like you need something a lot taller to get it to it's limit. FYI, I have 60" chevy springs in the front of my dodge and 63" in the rear. I wheel it a lot, and I rarely if ever get a tire off the ground. The fords look like that should work good too. I know the 57" ford 1/2 ton...

    Deuce as a donor?

...and I wouldn't be cutting up a good deuce if I was to do it either. The other day I saw one on GL that had the engine disassembled in the bed.

    Deuce as a donor?

Wreckerman, sounds real cool. Gimpy, I was thinking more along the lines of something that was new, clean, comfortable, quiet, modern conveniences, like someone might use everyday for a business in situations where traction and flotation was an issue. I know in Florida and other swampy...

Adding an extra axle to an M109A3

Regarding snow, and removing tires, adding weight, that depends on what kind of snow. Deep fresh powder you have to float on, anything packed and icy, you gotta bite into. Check out some of the icelandic offroad trucks. Huge marshamallow tires.

Adding an extra axle to an M109A3

My bad. I just use the "New Posts" function and came here from there without noticing which forum it was in.

What does govliq/military call a telehandler?

Either one is about what I'm looking for. Civvy 10k equates to mil 6k right? :-D Actually I'd like stabilizers on the front but I suppose they could be added.

That's a nice "little" truck. Bet it scoots around pretty good compared to a stock deuce. I like the gray.

    huge grayling deuce auction

I'm a noob and the only thing I can figure out from all the posts about GL is it's a huge failure.
