If you're not buying it through GL then you're paying above wholesale. Retail trucks, depending on condition, should be worth between $3-$5k. For that money you should know they start, drive, stop and have a title.
I've bought many deuces in the last couple of years and paid less than $2k for...
If you just need help moving one I could probably lend a hand with my deuce or were you thinking of pulling both of them to events or disaster situations? How far do you need to transport them?
The Alamo MVPA has a big MV only show at the TX Transportation Museum on 9/11 and having a MKT...
The tank weighs 600lbs and then add another 4800 for diesel and you're a little over 2.5 tons. The pumping unit is 795lbs so while not extreme it's still adding close to another half ton to the total weight that I'd just as soon not have.
I thought about just gravity feeding it but decided it...
I'm planning on putting one of the 600 gal fuel pods from a TPU in a M105A3 and was wondering if the pumping unit can be modified (basically taken apart and just the pump and 1 hose reel saved) to fit in the back as well. I don't want the entire thing due to the weight and only need 1 hose...
I agree with the sentiment to let others know about them, but disagree that it make one whit of difference to Government Liquidation or the people who run it. While I argue all the time that they DON'T have a monopoly it's still as close as you can get without being an actual monopoly.
Welcome!
If you're looking for others in the area there are quite a few with deuces.
Also coming up in San Antonio is the 2nd Annual all MV show at the TX Transportation Museum. You're more than welcome to bring your deuce...
All you have to do is call you insurance company, from the dealer, and give them the VIN number. You then have insurance. Like I said before, you can insure anything belonging to anyone as long as you have the VIN. You don't have to own it.
Most ins companies have a 30 day grace period to...
That's true for a car or light truck but usually not for something the size of a deuce.
Call your agent back and ask if there are any exclusions regarding size (or look at a copy of your policy). Most auto policies exclude vehicles over 10k lbs. That include large Uhaul or Ryder trucks...
You can still get insurance for the vehicle by just giving the VIN number to your agent and adding it to your policy (you can do that on your neighbor's car if you want to and have the VIN - no ownership requirement). Don't plan on driving a 13k pound, 30+ year old vehicle without insurance. The...
105A3s were going for around $200-$250 at Hooks last month. It's really just a matter of catching them when there's a large batch going at once.
To answer your question of "more at this location," if you don't see a picture of it, don't count on there being more. Each individual lot is just...
NDT,
Thanks again for the offer. I went through about everyone I could think of to contact directly with this and finally decided to open it up to the entire site. I'm sure something will work out or worse case scenario I pay to have them towed to a storage yard until I can get them myself...
I'm not in any great hurry to get it home. Do you make it over to San Antonio or Austin normally? Right now the big concern is getting them picked up before next Friday.
I've got 2 M105A3s sitting at Hooks, TX. I'm willing to give one up to anyone that can get the other one to me. The "free" one has racks and I believe bows but is missing the lunette. I've got to get them moved before Aug 13 so anyone interested needs to jump fast.
Welcome! The Lonestar MVPA meets the 3rd Wed of the month at Camp Mabry. Lots of deuce owners in the club and Pawnshop, M813rc, Reloader64, Sarge, and TexAndy are just a few of the club members that are on Steel Soldiers as well.
Okay guys, here's the Warning Order:
2nd Annual All MV Show at the TX Transportation Museum (San Antonio) is scheduled for 9/11/2010. Not sure what we're doing as a memorial but we'll think of something.
We had a GREAT turnout last year (see photos above) but would like to out-do ourselves...
Welcome to Steel Soldiers!
As a veteran with a disability (although not a "disabled Vet") I applaud your efforts to help other Vets and encourage them to remain active.
My personal opinion (and it is strictly that) is that you might get more mileage traveling the upper portion of N America...
TexAndy is trying to get a 5 ton medium wrecker set to be towed on Monday and he just called me from the storage yard.
It appears that the middle axle housing drain plug is missing so he can't fill the axle with gear oil before moving it. The only info from the -20p that I could find is that...
