I I didn't have a couple of those on my cell phone I'd start to think ya'll were staging them.
Sorry I missed the trip but next year we get to go to the Wright-Patterson Museum so I WON'T miss that.
Welcome to SS from a former north ID boy.
TexAndy just bought one the other day from a GSA auction. I think I'd trust GL a little more just because I've had good luck with them (your mileage may vary).
East Coast would probably be easier and closer than south TX though.
If I'm going to sell the truck any way I need to cut my losses while I can. I have extra switches laying around that won't cost anything. Or I might not fix it and just explain the situation to a prospective buyer and give them your contact info for the real part.
I've had one since January and run in to the most common problems. This thread is the best regarding the DUVAC and battery charging issues:

I was able to follow Lavarok's instructions quite easily and cleared those...
The only really hard part about a 1009 a/c system is how to mount the compressor. If you get that figured out then a Vintage Air Blazer unit should work. You might even take it to their factory in San Antonio and see if they could figure the compressor set up too.
Well I got the new compressor in, hooked up and putting out about 52 degrees at the vents. Everything seemed to be going well and with an AC invertor and box fan in the ambulance body took the 1010 to Ft Sill to pick up a 1009.
When I got up to check the belts and fluids yesterday morning I...
At least you wouldn't have had a high shipper price to add to it. I got mine out of ND and had to tack another $800 to ship it.
Did you happen to preview it?
I'm pretty sure $2850 + $285 GL = $3135. Again, considering what was missing on it, I think that was above what most have been going for lately. I've got a title and a battery equalizer in mine and I would have sold it to them for $4k.
I think the "convoy" sign is from a state road dept, not military. I'd be concerned why anything was missing from the vehicle since it had less than 10k miles. Makes you wonder what else might be wrong or what else they fiddled with that would be difficult to "unfiddle."
Not sure if anyone here was bidding on this but thought it went kind of high seeing as it was missing half of the inside of the ambulance box (and the rear door latch - minor item).
I suppose someone may have been confused since they listed it as a 1994 instead of 1984 and thinks they got a...
Man I'd love to be there but 2000 miles in the deuce today is a little much. Haven't had an Effie Burger forEVER (greasy burger dive in Lewiston for those unfortunate enough never to have had one).
Working off the part number that lavarok cross referenced I was able to find one at NAPA for $199 + core. Not too bad a price but the wife said "no." Instead we're spending Saturday afternoon shopping for a "reliable" (her words) vehicle since I have to have a/c due to the MS issues.
I'll...
Thanks guys. I did PM Lavarok in hopes he could add some advice.
The reason for the leak was the ever present GL forklift. No telling how long the line was open. I was hoping since the unit had under 30k miles it would have held up a little longer.
I think at this point the repairs on...
After replacing the low pressure line and charging my A/C system I got air conditioning for about 15 minutes before the compressor locked up. I charged it with a product called DuraCool that is supposed to be R12 and R134a compatible and wonder if that might have been the cause.
Does anyone...
Yeh it was tough. I'm only 15 miles east of New Braunfels and we got less than an inch. Amazing how that little distance can make a difference.
Check out this picture of an RV that got swept away in the flood.
Sent my EUC this morning for sale that closed 5/27 (M105A2). By the time I checked this afternoon it was already at BC. Hopefully their part clears as quickly.
