u haul trucks can ussually be had really cheap they have a box and are made for the highway they have a single axle in the back .if you arent worried about offroad why not just get one of them then you will have ac and it will do 70mph.they even have nice little loading ramps too:roll:
hard to tell from looking but the air compresser looks to be leaking and getting the oil filter cans wet . and the block looks wet near the rear when the head looks dry which ussually means a bad head gasket but more pics would help out.remember fuild only flow down hill so look for leaks from...
oh no not a unimog .so it will only go 45 and be slow as he-- .and 14.00s will only give you a top speed of around 74mph and they wont fit on a m109 with stock suspension or without a lift .95% of semis run two rear axles and run the highway for millions of miles .how does bobbing it have...
get the numbers off the trans i'm sure you can get a pto for it .i thought some of those trucks came with rear winches.isnt that what the pto was for:?:
loosing the middle axle would make it easier to get high centered and would make your turn radious worse to.the tires wouldnt be the issue as far as stablity.two axles distribute the weight to the ground diffently and are less suscepible to soft spots for instance like cross rutting .if driving...
the stock deuce served the purpose for over 50yrs when the m381 never seen production.modified or not the gov didnt cut them up to make 4x4s out of them .they had the m1008 and m880 for that . i'm not saying not to bob your truck just think about every different way to get what you want. some...
theres alot of semi salvage yards you could do a search on flea bay or just for truck ards in general.i like the idea to you could go with a 48 inch sleeper and have a full size bed- extra seating .a s250 could be used to but will take up more space .i would keep the frame long no matter what...
i would get rid of it just to be safe.i talked to my engine builder he contacted arp they said the have a rod bolt that will fit the multifuel rod .even though they dont have it listed only catch the rod needs to be sized as they ussually are distorted from the knerlled area of the old...
there was one on flea bay that had 395s on it and it looked awsome.i wouldnt run duals on it .maybe even go with 6 wheel steering with air locks for street use.like cc equiptment is doind on his new project .that would be different .the wheel base on that truck isnt but a few inches less than...
no i just have big arms:-D i have seen a couple like that they love em and they are way more different than a 4x4 deuce.if you really wanted to get trick you could put 5ton suspension under there with the stock deuce axles then you could run 52s if you wanted:roll:
as far as the trans it is one of the most used medium duty autos out there it is a good trans very basic.and easily found .brake parts and ctis parts are hard to find especially the master cyclinder but they can be rebuilt if needed.most guys put a block off plate on the ctis when it quits...
i like all the improvements they did to the a3 except the fact they got rid of the multifuel and added the uphill hood.to go with the motor .i think if they would have just added an innercooler to the multifuel or installed lds motors they would have had it just about perfect.oh and the the ctis...
