As stated earlier, they like to change the vin number & it looks like it was hand stamped. Several that I have owned, have the extra plate on the dash with the phone number etc of the place of rebuild. One I owned (a M52A2 ) had the bearing sizes & bore on a extra plate on the engine.

The hp number came off the spec sheet, listed on the gl auction. Mine is a depot rebuild, if that helps any.

Mine is a 210 hp (at something crazy like 2800 rpm's). Most are direct drive. A plate on the left hand side of the dash will tell you which transmission is in it.

Post it on uship.com . I just moved a 818 from Drexel after listing it there. I had a bid offered in about one hour of the listing, which I took.

I think there is a cross over, somewhere . I bought some for a M52 from Memphis. You could tell on each filter that someone took a grinder and scratched out the part numbers.

Sweet truck. I have a depot rebuild 52, and just bought a 818. My wife is going to be sooo happy as well. If anyone wants my M52, I will let it go for 4k before I pick up my other truck.

The paperwork on my M52a2 said 210 hp, the lowest rating I have seen was 190. $2800 for a depot rebuild anything sounds like a good deal.
