My charge meter hasn't worked since I got the truck. I decided to take it out of the dash today and put a load meter on the connector to see if there's a charge coming though, I know the generator works because the batteries havn't died. Any-who... Is there only supposed to be one connection...
My LD-465 with a C turbo added and non-turbo timing and fuel settings surges up and down at idle settings below 800 after it warms up. I didn't know if something was wrong with my IP but i set the idle at 800-850 and the surge goes away. Is this too high?

Come to find out all of my speedo problems trace to the adapter. the cable has big kink but is fine and does not need to be replaced. What is totally shot is the adapter out of the t-case. The thing is totally seized up and I was wandering if anyone has a spare they'd be willing to sell or if...
It now appears to me the cable is faulty. It's not broken but i think it's kinked in on the trans side (left side of pic.) You can push the cable down into the houding all the way where you can't get it out, that doesn't seem normal to me. How much do these things usually run?

Speedo hasn't worked in years according to the mileage on an oil change sticker dated year 2000 exactly 3k miles over the mileage read off the speedo. So today I decided to troubleshoot the problem. I was suspecting a broken speedo cable or gauge itself. You can spin the coupler on the back of...
Hey guy's. This stuff is everywhere now. I had to put the first tank in my '05 6.0 powerstroke diesel tonight, of course I added several oz of lucas upper cylinder lube with the talk of lower lubricity of the ULSD. Question is, how is this new fuel for the Deuce? Being a multifuel I know it'll...
I replaced the oil and all 3 fuel filters in my deuce before pickup with the Baldwin parts. The oil filter gaskets included are the right size along with the one of the gaskets included with the primary fuel filter. The primary fuel filters gasket is a little larger in diameter than the...
Upon closer examination the boots do not appear to be town as I can feel the lip on both and the groves are emtpy. Both boots seem to have slipped out from under the clamps or were not installed correctly to begin with. So I should just be able to clean everything oyut, reinstall the boot and...
Woohoo sounds like fun to fix. I was expecting axle seal repairs anytime now. I don't see any oil on the inside of the wheels on the back axles so hopefully those are good. What parts will I need to fix the front axle? Are the seals the same for the front and rear? Is there any tricks to pulling...
While under my deuce adjusting the e-brake and attempting to take out the slack on the brake pedal until I noticed you have to take the pin out of the linkage and rotate the linkage itself and gave up there for the sake of time, I noticed something wrong with my axle boots up front. I am still...
RE: the front 40 or the back 40?
There isn't any sort of extension. The dropside beds have taller tailgates, personally I like the look better. Larger from behind. Worked the truck hard today clearing brush and burning stuff. It ran non-stop from 9am-5pm or so and didn't miss a beat. I figured...
Here is a picture of a fresh oil leak from what looks to be the head gasket after the 45-60 mins of driving at speed last night. I hear all deuces leak somewhere and this could be considered normal. I don't see any coolant in the oil or vise versa and don't see any oil loss on the stick yet. I...
Well, after a week of work when I had time the truck is finally done to where I could bring it home. The new exhaust, and C turbo is installed and runs awesome. The dropside bed is on and functions great. It has some low spots between the supports from weight but overall it's in good shape. The...
Hey guy's. There is several surface rust spots on my dropside bed on my deuce that I need to get taken care of. The front of the tailgate is solid surface rust and a few other areas. The integrity of the metal under the rust seems good still and I want to keep it that way before it gets worse. I...
Hey Ken. So do you think fixed side flaps won't work on the drop side? Maybe he has the flaps on the other truck with the rusted out bed, we'll see. Thanks guys!

Thanks for all the replies guy's. I'm pulling my bed off tomorrow and probably pulling some of the N/A exhaust off to get ready for the turbo and new exhaust. How is the parts availability for the dropside bed? i'll probably buy a few bags of blasting sand and some green primer and blast and...
Hey guy's. The guy I'm buying my deuce from offered if I help him swap beds we'll put a dropside bed on my truck which has a straight side now. My bed is in great shape with very minor rust and very straight. The dropside bed is a great feature I would use but it has a bit of surface rust on the...
Thanks alot for the help Ken, hope to meet up with you soon. I'll be parked right next to a turbo dump truck so I cant just look at that for the bracket locations and stuff. I'll let you know how it goes.
