    Fire Truck Owners

My Bobbed deuce used to be a firetruck and it still has the rear PTO which I assume ran the water pump or something. Also a reserve tank behind the seat for something as well.. I have the original data plate on the door from when it was a firetruck as well.. Not sure if that helps you or anyone...

    Interested in a bobbed deuce!

I would check out Craigs List.. That's where I found mine, but look around in neighboring areas as well. Use the search function on the side type in "M35A2" or Deuce and a Half" that worked for me. But of course look on this site in the classifieds. Last resort.. Egay. Arrgghh can't stand...

    Help! No brakes in m35a2!

Same thing happened to me, driving my deuce all was well then all four rims were dragging, turned out to be the Airpack. I just posted my rebuild recently. I am still having the rears dragging a little but I think it's just out of adjustment now. Check to see if you are leaking any fluid out...

    (Somewhat) Rare photo op

My cousin used to work in the army in helicopter repair.. When I was around 12-14 I got to sit in a Cobra, that was pretty cool never got a pic though.. the second coolest thing was getting a tour of a live Nuclear submarine in the Groton Naval base in CT. My buddy still had an active pass...

    MY Airpack Rebuild with Photos!

So now that the Airpack is rebuilt I wanted to drive it around today. I still had trouble getting up hills. The truck just slows down. It started to smell like brakes... crap.. turned around and went back home, only out about 3 miles round trip. Walked around the truck to check for hot hubs...

    Front axle boot repair

Yeah looks like its leaking out the zipper. check it out and see how bad it is. You probably have to replace either way but the zippers do leak to a point. When you do replace there is some sort of silicone or something similar that you smear on the inside of the zipper to keep it from leaking...

    MY Airpack Rebuild with Photos!

Good luck Scott, it's not that bad if you take your time and be patient about it. If you are fairly mechanically inclined it should be no problem. There are no real tricky spots just your standard springs and bolts. Just be careful not to scratch up the piston rod when taking the piston off...

    MY Airpack Rebuild with Photos!

    MY Airpack Rebuild with Photos!

Ok, I calmed down a little now.. that WD40 scared me for a minute.. I googled it and found this scientific study on chemicals and oils and what effect they have on O rings.. Based on the study looks like the O ring doused in WD40 was OK no sign of any change. Not saying it's the best thing but...
