Wow a stock option.. interesting and good points with the location being farther away from the cab, with diesel and or a WMO mix that would be allot less flamable than gas..[thumbzup]
Glad I am not the only one that has a wife that wants to spend as much $$ on her stuff as I do on the deuce.. I keep trying to remind her that I spend way more $$ on her Navigator.. but then again I still have the mustang and firebird as well..
How loud is the brake blow off noise? Not sure if mine is doing it correctly or if I am just missing it.. Does it sound similar to when you disengage the front wheels or is it louder? Going to replace some brake lines the weekend and bleed, hopefully that is all of my problems.. probably not..
Great looking truck.. another set of 395's on stock rims! Nice! My rear hubs were already flipped when I got it, I like the look of yours.. but perhaps with it bobbed it wouldn't look as good..?
That's great to hear, I usually find out that when one deal doesn't happen and you get a little bummed there is usually a much better deal just around the corner! I was going to go down to SC to get a deuce then found one 45 min from my house and cheaper!
Great looking truck.. painting was my first project as well. Weren't you the guy putting together the pre-by checklist? Just remember your avatar.. Hope that worked out well for ya. Congrats on your new toy!
Sorry to see this happen to you.. People are just stupid.. they couldn't have gotten that much $$ scrap from regular steel.. Unless they wanted that specifically for something..I had some young kids try and steal some scrap metal off my property and my neighbor called the cops.. They took the...
I did add to a thread earlier today but got no traction so I thought I would ask again.. sorry. Thanks for the help. The MC cap does have a 90 degree angle coming off of it so that makes sense. I think I need to bleed out the air pack as well as the whole system. The air could be getting in...
OK so I found this brake line spitting out fluid and air as had my brakes lock up this weekend. I also have a major leak in the front brake hose that I am working on to fix. My question is, is this supposed to be connected into the MC in the hole I stuck it in as in pic #2? It was hissing out...
Interesting.. I bought the one from NAPA #3511 and the cork is on the inside of the metal ring at the top. Have not changed yet to look at size difference though.. Looks like this..
I posted my new issue on the thread "Deuce rear axle brake lockup..... Help please!!!" Since my problem was almost the same but have other issues with the MC and a mysterious line that is not connected to anything but looks like it should be. Thanks in advance for your help!
Sorry, bad choice of words I guess. Just drain off some fuel, enough to see if there is any water in it and yes you need the fuel pump on otherwise you will just get an air sucking sound coming out. Since the water will be at the bottom then you just need a little. I would use something like...
Under my deuce yesterday working on the brakes when I looked at the tranny and noticed this hole where is looks like a screw is supposed to be.. Is this normal? Doesn't look it to me..
Sooo.. just got to draining out some fluid from the secondary and Final filters.. Here is what I got at least a full cup of water out of these two.. Whew..glad I did it! Previous owner obviously didn't do much of any preventative care..
OK, just had mine lock up again.. now I haven't driven it much since the original time it happened as I want to tear down everything and have a look. So as I was adjusting my new parking brake and testing in the driveway the brake pedal went rock hard.. Now I have a major leak in the front...
Mine used to be a firetruck as well.. seems like there are a few of us on here that have them or have bobbed versions that used to be firetrucks.. Congrats on the purchase.. Don't forget to drain the fuel filters, I took about 1/2 cup of water out of the primary and about another cup out of the...
