There is "Pressure" in the system....
If I had a filter or line leak it would cause air to be sucked into the system which would cause a "Vacuum" in the system.
If I do not use my pump I still get "Pressure" in the system.
The only time it gets air in the system is when it is running.
My intank pump does not work, I use a thumper which is located at the tank. I can leave the thumper running for hours and it will not put air in the system, but run the truck for 10 seconds and I have air in the system.

When I bleed the air out of the system, it will start and run for a couple of minutes.
Then the air is reintroduced to the system and stalls out.

The Key word here is "Truck". Here in VA the only Reg's that I can find are for a "pickup"....and a "pickup" is defined as less than 7500 lbs. Over 7500 lbs is a "truck" and only carries stipulations if used as a school bus, public transportation or sorts and there is a list but the "Deuce"...
I do not see contact pressure as being the problem.
If the drive is straight and dry, there will be little to no damage.
But if there are turns and wet and not enough "base" I think it might leave ruts.
I believe the ruts and or loosening of the gravel base will come from "scrubbing" effect not...
