    backup in low

Not possible. I drive too far onto my soft dirt when filling a hole (backing onto the pile) and need it in muck for both backing and then especially forward when loaded. Loads of the muck are a one shot deal, like working on top of a bowl of jello. If my fuel was turned up some, it might do...

Axle Shaft removal for towing FMTV

Then even though it is turning the output of the Allison and the back end of the tranny, it is not turning the engine side with the pump to stay properly lubed. With no pressure, the Allison may not know what clutch to engage. Maybe it could try to go into two gears at once... just...

Axle Shaft removal for towing FMTV

Does the transfer case have a neutral, so it does not turn the Allison from the rear end?

    backup in low

Take a look at post 8 and run a straight line between the input and output shaft. The center shaft is almost in line and when the output is stopped, it makes the center (gear) try to climb the input gear, forcing the case apart. While I don't know for a fact, I'll bet that the T-138 is not as...

Crew Cab, single rear Axle M35A2s.... Who has built one? Who makes GOOD ones?

I understand the size issue...that's why I'm working on an M35A3. I like the Cat and have learned a lot about the tranny...... but still the slow speed is my nemesis. If I hit the lottery, I'll change gears AND put air lockers in both ends. The 50/50 split brake made the A3 my choice to modify.

    WTB Bolster or M1061 rims.

This person doesn't give up. Even after I told him I know he is scamming, he wrote this to my email this morning. --------- Hi Toby, I don't accept Payment on hold as this might delay shipping, once I receive payment I'll proceed with it and send your tracking number, I'll be sending through...

    WTB Bolster or M1061 rims.

Thanks Juanprado, I posted a bit more info on another thread "scam in progress". Wes said he made a complaint last night. No money transfered and the old saying "too good to be true" is proven again.

    WTB Bolster or M1061 rims.

Here is an interesting dynamic. I was sent an email message that Ground7 sent me a PM at SS. He gave me the email of a man in Louisana that supposedly has some bolster rims. Now when I look to see the conversation, it is gone....omitted from the thread. "Ground7 started a conversation with...

    backup in low

Got it. I didn't know the front engaged at any time it is put in low. Therefor there are two air valves in parallel and by trimming it, the TC front will no longer activate by the one that hits the washer. So capping the air line and removing the valve is also an option, it still works...

    backup in low

I'm not sure I know what you mean about a washer. I really have not gotten into the A2 that far....thank GOD. From my understanding, which is limited to disassembly and reassembly of the T-138 out of my M817 (not a T1138), the center gear shaft wedges at a low angle (even lower in the...

    backup in low

I find that having a dump (929A2) that I cannot use low reverse....sucks. My first dump, an M817, had problems caused by the military forgetting to set the shaft(s) bearings on a new T138, but once I had it right, it performed flawlessly. I should not have gotten rid of that truck. Now I'm on...

Crew Cab, single rear Axle M35A2s.... Who has built one? Who makes GOOD ones?

All of the vendors want retail prices....which about 99% of the time is too rich for my blood. I have never done business with Midwest. I enjoy the build and working out problems, so paying someone to do it is not in my budget. I see prices well into the 20's for what you describe. A 5 ton...

Crew Cab, single rear Axle M35A2s.... Who has built one? Who makes GOOD ones?

Try C & C in Unionville Indiana...they do quality work. You might put an ad in "wanted vehicles". There was a partly completed one (crew cab) that would have been a great start ....sold.
