How many have had their driveshafts balanced? THE POLL

Even NOS shafts need balancing. Even if you see little weights on them.

    MEP 803a Fuel Drain?

If you are talking about the connection to the plastic fuel tank, that is in fact a wellnut with a washer on the outside for the fitting to push against.

    FMTV High Speed Gears

You can save the gear oil and reuse it if it is clear and clean. Otherwise, front 2 gal, rear maybe 2 1/2 gal. front no need to remove big hub nut in front so no oil loss. Rear must remove nut so very small loss but hub oil in rear comes from diff oil so it will refill itself. You will need some...

for a 1083 the front and rear are the same as a 1078. The center axle is different and harder to find. https://www.lmtvtrucks.com/Drive%20Train/index.html

No, nowhere that bad, $2000 will buy you a new complete diff ready to be installed and installation is actually pretty easy.

All Military Vehicles banned from road in Maryland

I think you will find that $$$ was the driving force. Many HMMWVs were surplused and AGM was fearful of losing their civilian market for the Hummer. So likely they lobbied for restriction of HMMWVs. This started long ago.

All Military Vehicles banned from road in Maryland

I have purchased 6 LMTV in 2019, none said off road only, but that no longer matters. I searched long and hard for an inspection station to inspect them. Now that station is aware of the bulletin they will no longer inspect, a necessary part of getting tags. The 17 digit VIN was never a real...

All Military Vehicles banned from road in Maryland

As of 1/1/2019 but just now fully enforced. If you buy a MV in Maryland you will not be able to get tags for it. https://mdsp.maryland.gov/ASED/ASED%20Bulletins/Bulletin%20ASED-009%20Military%20Vehicle%20Inspection.pdf

    SPEEDOMETER CALIBRATION FOR A1R

No doubt someone here has already done this. The PPM on a stock A1R is set at 62619. Reducing this number makes the speedometer read higher. I roughly figured that 45398 would be very close to correct but it seems to read to high. Any one done this? And yes I know I can tweak this with a GPS but...
