I don’t see how it’s a downgrade, I don’t use 200a. I run a basic radio and occasionally some lights. It’s not a money issue in this situation, it’s literally just that I don’t need the 200a.

Did they make a serpentine pulley for the 60a generators? Reid has a few older ones lying around, they have the v belt so I’d have to get that pulley(assuming they exist). I’ve just never seen a serpentine on a 60a.

Only problem is the larger pulley is $175 I think, it’s not horrible but not cheap either. I did find someone that had one of the laser tachs and put a piece of that tape on my harmonic balancer and got: 855 when the tach was saying 1100 1425 when the tach was saying 1900 assuming it is...

It is the smaller fixed pulley, not the clutch one. I asked someone which is more accurate in relation to the engines rpm’s and they wouldn’t exactly say. I assume the larger clutch one is more accurate and the smaller one makes it look like it’s higher rpm’s. I wont know until I figure out how...

So which one is accurate? It’s saying I’m redlining at 63-65 and idling at 950rpms. This is mine, if it’s accurate then I have bigger problems, I was hoping that it was just my pulley causing it to not be accurate as mentioned in another thread.

Gotcha. Thanks. I would have thought that wouldn’t affect the tach but these might be set up differently than other ones I’ve used. I probably don’t need the 400a but it might be cheaper to get a tinytach. Either way I pray this is my issue. If so, I’m way ahead ata $20k m1152….kind of...

Where would you put that if you were trying to use it to determine rpm’s? I was thinking it would, just wasn’t sure where you’d put it to get an accurate reading. I do have the 400a.

950rpms. Does that work on diesels though? Normally diesels are harder, normal tachs don’t work on them.

What do you consider a lower top end?

In 1st gear, I’m hitting 3k at 15mph. I don’t think it’s wrong. I could be mistaken but I’ve had to drive some diesel work trucks and like I said, I’m pretty accurate. How would I verify?
