    You may have to add the throttle switch to the new engine, it may or may not already be installed. It turns the jake on when you lift your foot off the throttle. It is polarity sensitive, hooking it up backwards will blow up the diode. It has been many years since I have worked on one of these...

    The stuff in the Jacobs boxes is for hooking up the Jake brakes. Dash switch, brake and clutch switch, throttle switch. If using jakes with Allison trans, a solenoid valve has to be added to keep the torque converter locked up when they are activated. I would not worry about turning the engine...

    Look on the accessory drive pulley, the one about 3 o'clock if standing in front. Turn it clockwise to prevent loosening the nut.

    A normal size dial indicator works fine. Just stick it to the flex plate or bolt a piece of flat stock to the end of the crankshaft. Use a big socket on the accessory drive pulley nut, turn it slowly! Mike
