    Torque does not hold the locker together it is two big springs on both sides. Power turn or coasting turn the locker will unlock.     Pretty sure a Detroit locker is always locked. Under power, coasting straight or even sitting in your driveway while your asleep. Only lets loose when the conditions on one axle is allowed to spin faster then the other.
