    Mep-803a fuel leak

Fittings on the oil hose are crimped on, you need to have a new hose assembly made up. You could cut the sleeves off the fittings and make up your own hose with 1/4" hose and clamps, but I would just buy a custom made assembly. It will probably be about $20 plus shipping. The T-fittings on...

Mep-802A crank no start, high crankcase pressure

After reading your work done so far again, I would also say that a cylinder bore full of bird seed could have played a role in bending pushrods as well. To that point, before you throw the head back on, tip it upside down and fill the combustion chambers with diesel, kerosene, carb cleaner etc...

    Mep-803a fuel leak

So that line you are pointing to is an oil line feeding your oil pressure sensors. You can get new lines custom made at most NAPA stores as well as places on-line like www.Discounthydraulichose.com I believe that line is a -4AN / 1/4" JIC female swivel on both ends. The return line is 3.5mm...

MEP-002a Help Needed on Fuel System

Unless you have a lot of heavy rust pitting or pinhole leaks once you are done, you shouldn't need to replace the tank, but it all depends what you find when you clean it out. typically you get a little water settling right around the drain valve, which can rust the tank, but the sludge in the...

    Mep-803a help

Wes, I'm headed to Ontario on Monday for work, ( just for 1 day on Tuesday and fly home Wed. ) I could have made a house call while I was there, but luckily it seems you are all set!

Mep-802A crank no start, high crankcase pressure

The check valve definitely need to move. That relief valve could very well be the reason the pushrods got bent. It will also contribute to low/no compression and no-start condition. Good thing you identified and corrected that issue!

    Freq Meter intermittent operation Mep002A

Ok, well the gage uses 100 uA DC to get you 60 Hz on the meter, so if you have a DMM capable of measuring micro amps DC, disconnect the 2 wires and measure across. The wires go directly from the output of the transducer to the gage, so if you are 100% positive that your transducer is good, the...

Vinyl window yellowing, tips for polishing back?

I 2nd the Meguiar's products, I have used them as well as 3M hand glaze to polish and maintain vinyl windows on old cars with plastic convertible top windows. If really bad you may need to start off with an aggressive product then work you way down to a fine polish to get out any swirls left...

MEP-002a Help Needed on Fuel System

Correction... Every time you turn around something has been ruined due to this NEW fuel! rofl I bet something with 8 year old fuel in it is probably in better condition now than something sitting with last years diesel in it.

    Questions about MEP-002A

Let's go Rick... get on it! Don't risk a spun bearing over such a simple fix. You can't watch the gage 24/7 during an outage... and I think we all know, nothing ever breaks when it's most convenient for US! ;)

Mep-802A crank no start, high crankcase pressure

I tried looking at your pictures but it's hard to tell, if the valve hits the piston it will hit perfectly flat, but may leave a very faint mark in the top of the piston. I can't see anything in the pictures and the sludge piles on top of the pistons don't show any signs of piston contact that I...

Mep-802A crank no start, high crankcase pressure

I don't think I have ever bought from them, but the price looks good and they have a 100% rating. For pushrods, I have bought those from Mayi diesel before. DO not buy the used ones currently listed on ebay, he appears to have bumped his head ( real hard ) just before placing all his lpw4 parts...

Mep-802A crank no start, high crankcase pressure

Well, I just grabbed 2 sets for you and took a peek on line... https://www.ebay.com/itm/121761790834 I think I paid close to $20 per rod plus shipping.... here's a listing for $3.95 I don't think I can compete with that!

Mep-802A crank no start, high crankcase pressure

KnuckleDuster, if you haven't already purchased the pistons, you can also just get new rings from Mayi Diesel in standard bore .25mm .5mm .75 and 1.0mm oversizes. Just clean your ring lands good, hone and re-ring it. Let me know if you have any difficulty finding rod bearings, I have a couple...

Mep-802A crank no start, high crankcase pressure

While you're in there, I think removing the oil pump pickup and the pressure relief valve might not be a bad idea, if you find any sludge or evidence of rust in the crankcase.

Mep-802A crank no start, high crankcase pressure

You are so close to having the pistons out you may as well just do it. Better now than taking it all apart again if the rings are stuck! Pull the side cover and you'll be done in 20 minutes or less?

Mep-802A crank no start, high crankcase pressure

Ok, sounds good. Since you have to pull the injectors to do a compression test, you can also turn the line off to the side and hook the injector back up with it out of the cylinder to test it. You should have 4 very fine sprays coming out of the sides of the tip at 90* spacing.
