    Engine swap poll

In this situation I’m not looking to go down the diesel route outside of a used 6.2 or 6.5. Ease of replacement is high in the priority list Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Engine swap poll

Just want to get a general feeling of how everyone feels about engine swaps in the CUCV line of trucks. My engine is fine as of now, I just want to poll the crowd here and see everyone's opinions. I have a blazer now and I always tell myself that if/when the 6.2 goes, I would love to have a 383...

CORONA CANCELLED !! Findlay Ohio, Armed Forces Day show, MVPA convention COMBO

I'm hoping to get my Blazer back on the road and drive it this year. I haven't done much on it in the last year but it needs a little PM and we'll be back on the road. as usual, I'll be wandering around with my cameras.

    Vacuum line part ID/name

Mine dry rotted, leaked and I removed it. Just hook the lines up directly and it will work fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    B17 Nine-O-Nine crash in CT - 2019-10-02

I gotcha. That makes more sense. Still though, I would think fuel issues show up during the warm up and run up? Thanks for clarifying Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    B17 Nine-O-Nine crash in CT - 2019-10-02

So similar to diesel vs. gasoline nozzles, one is bigger than the other. That was one of the speculations I heard getting kicked around. I didn’t think it made sense though. Aside from the nozzles, correct me if I’m wrong, aren’t all the tanks plumbed together and balanced between the left and...

    B17 Nine-O-Nine crash in CT - 2019-10-02

I fixed the post with the pay wall links. I left the links but posted the text of the articles with credit to the source. I also split my post in two- once I posted the text of the articles, it got really lengthy. Secondly, I sounds like there were some real heroic efforts by passengers and...

    B17 Nine-O-Nine crash in CT - 2019-10-02

Sorry for the gap in updating, I was traveling and doing a few photo jobs and time got away from me but I did want to share a couple articles from the Hartford Courant. First off, the Nine-o-Nine's flight engineer/mechanic was released from the hospital today! This is great news and as he is...

    B17 Nine-O-Nine crash in CT - 2019-10-02

I shoot photos for a local newspaper and my warbird addiction started a few years back when I did a video and photo gallery when Madras Maiden came through Cleveland on a tour. I make it a point to go see warbirds every time they come through my area and get their cause into the media. I've...

    B17 Nine-O-Nine crash in CT - 2019-10-02

So what I'm gathering from the news conference is that 13 people were on the B17 at the time of the crash, 3 crew and 10 passengers who paid for flights. The hospital is saying that there are varying degrees of injuries, some in the burn unit and some fatalities. No numbers were put on that but...

    B17 Nine-O-Nine crash in CT - 2019-10-02

I never had the opportunity to see Nine-O-Nine but I did get to fly in Madras Maiden before she was turned into Ye Olde Pub. News conference is on now, I'll see if I can post an update soon. Meanwhile here is a scree grab from a video on CT news. That NBC Connecticut link in the first post...

    New proportioning valve for M1009

Makes sense. I’ll give it a try. Probably won’t get a chance to work on it until later in the week but I’ll let you know how it works out. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I installed a new proportioning valve and failed at bleeding the brakes. I think I tripped the shuttle valve inside the proportioning valve. Looks like I'm taking stuff back apart later this week to get this junk back on the road.

How do you get the most horsepower out of a 6.2?

Probably should be in the hot rodding section but I'll have a stab at an answer. The 6.2 is not a powerhouse and was never designed to be a huge powerhouse. They can be reliable and run a long life if treated well. A lot of guys add turbo kits to them but in that I personally have no experience...

    New proportioning valve for M1009

Alright, I swapped in the new valve today. The install went really well until it came time to bleed the system. I'm pretty sure I tripped the shuttle valve because I cannot get my rear brakes to bleed and I have a mushy pedal. I have the Kent-Moore tool (mentioned on here before) that clips onto...

    New proportioning valve for M1009

I get what you are saying. Crack the bleeder farthest away from where you were working. I'll give it a shot but I'm fairly certain the valve is damaged. I have one of the tools for clipping onto the shuttle valve to hold the pin in- it won't even go on. It looks like someone hit the head of the...

    New proportioning valve for M1009

I ended up ordering that valve. We will see how it works. I really didn’t want to replace it but I can’t get the little thing on the side to reset to bleed the brakes. It actually looks like someone hit that needle with a hammer at some point. I’m going to install it tonight or tomorrow and post...
