    6.2/6.5 Turbo Build

one other note, if you get the ORD high clearance cross member and ORD motor mounts then the cross over tube fits between the oil pan and motor mount and will then go in front of the axle under the balancer to the passenger side. makes for a very clean install and keeps it out of the way of...

Crank, No start after new injectors... and other maladies.

remove your glow plugs make sure the fuel is getting to the ip and crank it over until fuel is spitting out the glow plug holes. while you have them out, test them either with a battery charger or jumper cables they should glow pretty quick. if you have an ir temp gun check to make sure they are...

    Alternator issue

after looking at the pic again, you should not have that many wires connected to the relay. your 12 volt terminal block is empty, most of those wires should go to the 12 volt terminal block and not the relay. Your jumper from the resistor should go to the terminal block and then to the relay...

    Alternator issue

that is the glow plug relay and yes when the wait light is on then there should be voltage there but when the light goes out it should stop and start to cycle on and off until the engine is up to temp then once up to temp, it should stay off. This cycling is controlled by the glow plug...

    Alternator issue

did you get the ground wires connected to the block. There is a ground wire from the cab and one from the bus bar. maybe these are not connected properly. You may have a wire shorted out on the block some where and the voltage is coming through the block from the battery/alt output and not...

optimizer long block - hummer 24V or cucv 24v

I have been busy with work. I still need to remove the roof rack, paint and do the wiring for the lights and cameras. I have all of the supplies just not the time. I have been starting the truck on a regular basis and it starts really fast. I don't think the engine turns a complete revolution...

    m1009 cost ?

Most parts are available. They are not any more expensive than parts for new cars. Look at LMC.com and you will see the parts are still being made, some times they do not fit as well. Most of the parts can be purchased at your local auto store. Some of the military items can be hard to find...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

thanks. none of my trucks ever had the jack or handle so I am not sure how I got these parts, probably laying under the seat or out of the glove box. That finger nail clipper works pretty good for cutting zip ties. thanks Rich

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I was moving my parts collection today, going through and re-boxing items so I could get the barn cleaned up and I found these items and cannot remember what they are for. Can anyone identify this part. I have two of them.

    Weird Alternator Wiring

So basically they just extended the output from the 12volt alt (drivers side) into the cab and then back out. Maybe they had a 12 volt gauge at one time so they could monitor the output from the 12 volt alt which was isolated from the battery. If not needed now, I would remove it and splice the...

    Weird Alternator Wiring

has the truck been converted to 12volt? that is not standard wiring. need to see how the 12volt terminal block is being fed (next to glow plug solenoid). also need to keep that thing insulated. IF it were to short to ground you might have some pretty good fireworks. interested to find out more...

optimizer long block - hummer 24V or cucv 24v

I will have to go to the store and see if they can order it. on the internet, it is not available for delivery and it is not available in any stores within 100 miles. I will go by the pro desk today and see if they can order it. 3/8 would probably be ok and a few extra pounds may be worth it...

optimizer long block - hummer 24V or cucv 24v

my rack Is already heavier than I wanted it. I was hoping that the birch would hold up ok since it will have a water seal on the top of it and foam backing on the other side so it will be mostly encapsulated. The birch is the lightest plywood I can get. I am using 1/4 inch to save on weight...

optimizer long block - hummer 24V or cucv 24v

made some more progress on the truck. The roof rack is 99% welded and ready for final paint. I have completed the exhaust and almost completed the tire lift. I have a few more things to do to the tire lift. first is to reinforce the riser pole. I plan to add an outer pipe (one size larger) and...

    Relay circuit bounce, headlights dimming.

trace the ground wires to that relay. I believe the relays are for the black out lights and the service light disconnect. you probably have bad relays that are not latching and there is probably a bad ground somewhere causing it to continue to try and switch. the lights on and off.
