New liners/pistons... Honing and other questions

Hey guys, About to rebuild my engine, have all the parts in hand and have been studying the manual. Old versions for the lds-427 mentions honing the liners after install. Yet the newer manuals for the ldt and lds-465 do not mention honing. I pulled out one of the new liners from the box and...

    Warped drums

Holy moly! What causes this? The hub is fine, it's just the drum. I found a leaking wheel cylinder and when I was putting it all back together I noticed the drum was wobbling. I took it back apart and found the inside metal was ground down. There wasn't any metal in the drum... So I assume...

    Universal electric wipers, modify?

So I have these universal wipers on my truck. They've been on there since Feb 2013. They were sold as 12v. Although I've see. Them in 6v and 24v. I am powering them with 12v Yet, I think they're too slow. And they don't travel as far as I want them to. I believe I saw here where someone had...

Copper air lines, fittings and flares?

Hey guys, I have accidentally damaged my horn copper tube. I tried to find a cap or plug for the line, but nothing I had fit the point where the air tee'd off from the firewall. Also on the other end, that connects to the horn, I couldn't identify the fitting/flare there. What size is the tube...

Can MRAP wheels be mounted "deep dish" style without flipping hubs?

Just curious. Bought a set of MRAP wheels and adaptors...I just wonder if you can mount them without flipping the hubs in the rear. I like the dishes look. I've never seen anyone do it that way before.

Brake Fluid coming out of Vent in engine bay...

Hey guys! Long story short, I thought I had a leak and to be overly cautious, I replaced the master cylinder and all of the wheel cylinders. No visible external leaks. Ran a clear piece of hose from master cylinder into the cab and topped it off. Fluid disappears every time I drive still. I've...

Intake/exhaust port CFM flow? Porting the heads? Tech babble.

Had my heads off last week and valves out. Looking in the ports, I was curious about the flow on them. Has anyone ever flow benched a head? Also noticed there is a ton of metal there if anyone were to port them... Looked around some other diesel forums out of curiosity to see if porting...

Injectors! Testing, home made pop tester, results.

Well guys I've been busy as **** lately so I haven't been on here much. Last weekend I started doing the head gaskets on my deuce. Since I had it all apart I took the injectors to the only outfit in town that can test them. They said free to test, $25 to rebuild... So I said sure. Well the call...

    Warthog saved the day!

A huge thanks to Warthog (Joe) for the water pump! As some of you may know, I've had a real btch of a time with leaking coolant. I replaced the lower radiator hose, and checked virtually every hose, fitting and anything that carried coolant. I initially thought it was the water pump leaking...

So I need to do my headgaskets pretty quick. I am using the truck as a daily. So hoping to get it done in a day or weekend. There is hefty amounts of oil coming out of the front and rear of both heads. So here are a few questions: Can I leave both the intake and exhaust attached and lift...

EPIC DAY: Artic front installed... subsequent coolant rupture...leak discovery

SPELLING EDIT ARCTIC... sorry, I'm a tard. So yesterday after work I put on my arctic front, in preparation for the cold mornings. I didn’t use the metal screw in clips, just stretched the springs, used some zip ties and whatnot. Went well. Temps on the way home with the flaps dog eared...

    Heater sucks... Supposed to blow?

Ive got an interesting heater.... Looking at all of the pics of everyone else's heaters, it looks like mine is completely different. Its mounted in the cab and doesnt have the same style of blower. The blower draws the air from the heater core and the outlet is facing straight up. There is...
