We are in the process of building a brush truck and was wondering if anyone has pics of a brush guard that someone has built for the M-1078. I have seen a lot of fire truck pics but none have a brush guard. Thanks.
We are starting to rig out our new m1078 for a brush truck and I need to now the best way to get 12V. I want to run power to a master switch and then to a new fuse box that will power a radio, siren, intercom and some LED flashers. What is the best way to get power from the fuse panel in the cab...
Is there a market for the dropsides and troop seats on a 1998 M1078?We just got this truck and won't be using the sides and was wondering what they might be worth.Thanks.
Can anyone tell me how to figure out what year my M813A1 is? We bought it from the Federal Surplus about 10 years ago and it didn't have a title. When we went to dmv to get one it came back as a 1990 Jeep. I am getting ready to sell it and just wanted to make sure what year it really is. Thanks
I was trying to buy an air filter for the M813A1 today and didn't have any luck. Can anyone give me a brand and a part number? We went through a book and couldn't find anything with the same dimensions. Thanks for the help.
A 15 yard belly dump backed down in the river bottom today loaded with crushed rock and got buried. It was muddy and they spun until they were burried.I tried to pull it out but spun the wheels too. They backed down with another dump and he spun too. Then we chained them all together and the 5 ton...
Does this truck look complete? It is kinda rough but just wanted to know if anything was missing? What kind of engine? It has Tx tags so it should have a title if the wrecking yard didn't send it to Austin for salvage.
I went to the wrecking yard today and ran across an M51 dump truck. It looked complete to me.It is in Stephenville,Tx if anyone needs parts.Way too hot to be out there though.
We finally got the truck finished. We were called to a brush fire on a ranch about 12 miles out last night around 9 PM.The 5 ton was the last one out and the first to spray water. Our 2 4x4's arrived first followed by 2 more mutual aid 4x4's.Because of the heavy brush and terrain they couldn't get...
I have never done any electrical work on our 5 ton and have some questions about installing some flood lights on the front.Getting 24v lights is not a problem but I am wondering how to connect them to the truck. Is there a fuse box?Does it just use circuit breakers?I am assuming it is wired...
Is there any way to trace the history of a 5 ton?It came with nothing.....no kind of title. We got it from the federal surplus and they said they didn't know where it came from.It is an 813 Navy truck.25k and 800 hrs.Does anyone know what a camel on the door means? Thanks.
