Can someone post the stock ecm parameters and configurations? I am assuming this is possible for someone with access to the ecm configurations and flash capabilities.
It would really help some of us now or in the future when we need to have a replacement ecm programed for our truck.
I get that message for every module, engine, transmission, ctis...
I know some of these trucks were missing engine modules, but my truck has it.
I haven't been able to start it, it's ran for like 2 seconds on ether. Any ideas?
Does anyone have a list of filter part numbers and maybe fluid specs?
I was looking for transmission filters and I think I narrowed down, but there seems to be a shallow and deep option. Not sure which one the truck has and was hoping someone knew where I could find this information.
It's a non runner... I live about 1.5 hours from Albany, Ga, so it was a quick and easy transport. I will attempt to start it in the next couple weeks.
They're transporting my truck Monday. I have a tire company taking the wheel/tire from the second axle and replacing the busted front tire.
My question is will the hub drop and touch the ground on the middle axle? Or be in the way while loading?
So the truck I bought from auction has a busted front tire. I bought this tire and wheel off ebay, just to be able to roll the truck on/off the transport trailer. I was told it fits a M977. If not, then I can just swap the new tire on the the MTVR wheel.
So in the past I've had a few hobby vehicles, a couple CUCV's and a HMMWV. I was going to buy a 5-ton, but then the 7-tons were released.
I figured there would be more interested in these trucks, but seems like they're not that popular. Am I missing something?
Are there any upgrades for the front brakes? Maybe upgrading the master cylinder to help the whole system? I installed rear disk brakes, which helped a lot, a couple years ago. I had about two yards of red clay in the bed of the truck and it had a hard time stopping. I have towed a few heavily...
I recently did a rear disk brake conversion and installed a gooseneck hitch on my M1008. While pulling a dump trailer, I tried braking with out using the trailer brakes @ 30mph and I felt like the truck was never going to stop. Without the trailer I felt like the truck stopped better with the...
I swapped the 6.2 for a gas engine and I have been having some fuel vapor lock issues. Looking to install an electric fuel pump with regulator. I looked for a return line going to the fuel tank when I pulled the 6.2 out and I couldn't find one. Does one exist on these Cucv's?
Just a few pictures. 1986 M1008 20K miles.
Everything works good with the swap. Plenty of power. Having a few issues with fuel vapor lock, but I plan on moving the fuel line away from the engine to resolve that hopefully.
I installed new door and window seals on the truck. When I got home...
A little history about the truck. I bought it a year ago with 18k miles in great running condition. I got tired of driving 45mph in the truck and needed an engine that could handle more revs with out changing rear end gears.
I got the engine from a friend that used it in a mud truck powered by...
I recently bought a m1008 with 18k miles. I have been wanting to raise the front of the truck to where it sits level with the rear. Thinking about that, gave me an idea to just do a 4" lift to fit some 35" tires. My concerns about the 4" lift is if the springs are as heavy duty as the orginal...
