How to test this Niehoff alternator 570 amps 28VDC 76761-N1609 & -N3240 regulator
I could not find much info on this unit other than its one of the biggest ones they make. I have some water rights on an old hydro mill and would like to play with this a little bit. Does anyone have any wiring...
I got her pretty cheap...always had a leak that appears to be coming from inside the bellhousing. Before I go and pull the whole Tcase and transmission, am I overlooking any miracle, more simple fix? I am assuming rear main seal...leaving a pretty good puddle of engine oil now.
I have done this a few ways (from a airline fitting to cardboard and duct tape). I think this is the easiest. Drill a hole at .453" or .625" (standard sizes)...insert a standard valve stem. I hook it up to a C02 tank regulated to 2-3 psi, but any regulated air source would work. It makes...
I found some generic testing online. I am looking for a more in depth manual or trouble shooting guide that might break down the testing of the valve body and pressure diagnostics. I have a very clean transmission in a M923A2 that had some weird issues I would like to attempt to shake down...
Need a fully functioning cargo (22,000 pounds) moved from 23072 Virginia to Central Texas.
PM or reply please. Will needed it moved in the next two weeks. Leads on reliable service are also appreciated.
I am looking at getting a cheap hand held reader. There are a few around popular auction sites with titles such as "CR-HD DIY Heavy Truck Duty Code Reader J1939 J1708". It appears it will link with the passenger side diagnostic connectors. Has anyone used this? I would hate to spend that...
I purchased one of the *new* surplus Ibis Tek (black)44,000 pound tow bars to aid in recoveries (was never used). We were using thisto tow a 5 ton tractor with a transmission problem off base for a later in the day flatbed tow. Bought 4 trucks and got three safely operational. Bought the proper...
Here was another tough part that I had to hunt down. The cap is used on alot of other military trucks as well and seems to be a sticky finger item that gets stolen and lost:
Fuel cap:
4" female nonvented
sloan 431005
napa Balkamp 703-1256
Velvac 600168P
DC 600168 S

LO 431005
TTM...
Poor 1st attempt at recovery:
Well....it took me forever to find these and did not see much history. We needed a new lift (transfer) pump for a M923A2, could not prime it and was sucking air. The pick-up tube seemed good and we could power prime it with an electric pump. Checked all fittings...
Trying to find someone semi local to grab a Silver Eagle trailer (ends 6-27). I would be able to pick it up coming down 95 over 4th of July 3rd through 6th). I would just not have the time to mess with GOV LIQ pickup. Send PM or email with price.
Thanks,
Tim

I need everything from the bearing up, plus locking ring segments. I have a bearing mount=just need the turret parts. I can give a specific parts breakdown if needed and am willing to entertain partial assemblies.
Just posting a FYI:
Paid the $60 SF-97 fee and govliq simply sent me a FLORIDA title hand signed over to me with address, info and sale price filled out. That should save me some potential hassle at the DMV. Came in about 2-3 weeks from the time the online form was filled out.
Not my fist MV but my first deuce-got really lucky:
They lost the truck for 2 hours....we looked at EVERY VIN and sticker and then started looking in the lower lot where it should not have been....and she was there. Pulled and load tested the 6TL's and they were both at 8 volts-did not bother...
AM General with 70k miles.....miles kind of scared me but a winch truck for $1500 including tax and GL fees I could not turn down. Will be my first Deuce recovery (in Richmond)-about 50 miles away. Hoping to bleed the brakes, add fresh batteries and top off fluids....cross your fingers for me...
