    Starter brackets are different

    Found out the hard way so I thought I'd pass it on. 27MT starter, 1113591, direct drive, uses bracket 14028931. Not available at dealers but still out there. Hillbillywizard, anntenaclimber, and others have some. 28MT starter, 1047961, gear reduction, uses bracket 23502557. Available at dealers.

    M1009 won't start

    My 86 M1009 has died twice on me now. Turn the key, glow plugs warm up, turn to start, starter relay clicks, but no starter. Batteries are good, tested at auto shop, 900 CCA each, Voltage at the starter when key in start. Still 24 volt starter. Engine ground cleaned, even ran jumper from...
