2 wheel vs 4 wheel steering

I was referring to an A5 that had 4 wheel steer added. Most of these conversion seem to lack the welded on frame tube attachment point to switch back to 2ws. Presumably with a u bolt and a bit of steel you could make a clamp on version to add that capability back.

2 wheel vs 4 wheel steering

Anyone try making a 2 wheel steering lockout bracket for an A5 that doesn't have one? Doesn't look too hard...

Hauling a m274 in Tacoma pickup bed

Sounds like I am going to have to put it in a trailer.

Hauling a m274 in Tacoma pickup bed

Hum. If that is the bed length, I've probably miscalculated.

2 wheel vs 4 wheel steering

I come from a M35A2, so I'm no stranger to a wide turning radius, and it seems the mule has a slightly larger turning radius. It seems advantageous to keep the radius smaller when operating on smaller off-road paths that the M274 would be on. I've been off-roading on trails with my pickup where...

Hauling a m274 in Tacoma pickup bed

I don't think the weight will be an issue as the Tacoma can support up to 1175lbs in the bed stock. I measured my bed and I have about 52.5 inches between the bed sides, but towards the front of the bed are the wheel wells which reduce the bed width to like 42 inches for the lower half of the...

Titles for mules / registration as off-road vehicle

In my search for a Mule, I've found a few on the East coast that are titled but all the ones near me on the west coast don't have an titles, sf97s, or other proof of ownership. Anyone have experience getting a title for a Mule in AZ and ultimatly registering it as an off-road vehicle?

Hauling a m274 in Tacoma pickup bed

I'm trying to figure out if I can fit a m274 in the bed of a Tacoma (short bed) pickup truck. Based on the dimensional data I can find, it sounds like I could fit it with the rear wheels resting ontop of the Tacoma bed's wheel wells near the cab and the front wheels resting either in the bed or...

2 wheel vs 4 wheel steering

I'm in the market for a mule and initially wanted a 4 wheel steer model for the tighter turn radius. Since looking, I've heard the 4 wheel steer variants can be a pain between getting the wheels aligned and squirlyness at anything other than low gear speeds. Anyone here driven both to offer a...

    Rusty fuel cap

The stock caps have a vented and unvented position. Mine have been in the vented. I'm going to head to the truck tomorrow and use a transfer pump to suck out the bottom inch or so of fuel (and hopefully water) from the tank. Then I'm going to scrub out the rust from the filler neck, while...

    Rusty fuel cap

I have some new caps on the way from Big Mike. My concern is, what is causing the rust? Mosture in the air in the tank? How do I get that out to prevent rust going forward?

    Rusty fuel cap

My fuel cap looked lose so I went to tighten it and the insides disintegrated when I went to turn it. The entire inside was pretty much rusted away. I don't think there is an appreciable amount of water in the tank, as I have used both a PIG water absorber and have recently pumped out the...

Looking for picture of front spring pack loaded w/ winch

Very cool. Please do take a picture of the new springs installed and/or measurements of the old springs once removed.

Looking for picture of front spring pack loaded w/ winch

Anyone (or maybe a couple of people for comparison) have pictures of their front spring packs while loaded? Trying to judge if mine are sitting properly...

    Fuel Tank Diverter Selector Valve

I was worried about getting a bunch of abrasive junk in my fuel, but I guess the fuel filters will take that out.

    Fuel Tank Diverter Selector Valve

I put Optilube XP with my diesel. I'll try cleaning it again with some brake klean and then coating with vegetable oil. I removed and polished the core; the outer portion is installed in a non-standard and hard to get to spot, so I have not polished it. Neither looked discolored or scratched.

    Fuel Tank Diverter Selector Valve

Well my issue returned and worse than ever now. To get the valve out this time I had to thread a slide hammer into the retaining bolt hole on the top of the valve handle and gently tap it up and out. Still looks clean, no scratches, no debris, no idea why it gets stuck. If I just drop the valve...

    Steel Soldiers migration 12/9/19

A few security suggestions/issues: Redirect HTTP to HTTPS and even better set HSTS headers. Set X-XSS-Protection headers to prevent framing. The forum is setting a anti-CSRF cookie (xf_csrf), but not applying the SameSIte or httpOnly directive, which may defeat the purpose of the cookie. Not...

Orbeeze for removing water from fuel?

Interesting. Wonder if throwing a bunch of these in a permeable sock would be a good way to get water out of contaminated fuel? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjxUrrJDXGA

    Fuel Tank Diverter Selector Valve

Took a look at that thread and disassembled my valve. Nothing seems wrong, even the o-rings look good. Not sure why it was stuck, but it moves freely now that I've put it back together, so hopefully it stays that way.
