I highly recommend replacing all the 6.5 gaskets, add Arp studs, new lifters, girdle and Fluidampr before putting the 6.5 in.
I call it a bomb proof refresher. At least you can add a bigger turbo down the road if you wanted to and know your motor can handle it.
Even the 599 blocks can crack...
I noticed the 95 6.5 has the alternator on passenger side and 96 6.5 has the alternator on driver side.
I’ve never seen a 6.2 with the 6.5 turbo set up OEM. The 599 block is for sure a 6.5.
It is claimed that the 599 is the best block for the 6.5 years.
