Good Idea on the bed. The shower if drains thru the floor us a 3" toilet flange and a pipe that can seat into it when down. Then hinge the base or just remove it when not needed and put it away.

We get winter snow and it would be nice to keep the bed clear of it. I like your heating ideas to bad you could not have a fold up shower floor to give you back...
