What have you done to your JEEP today

Had a really good looking M38a1 Roll into the shop yesterday! Outwardly you had all the ignition hooked up correctly but looks like whoever had the 12V system put in, indexed the oil pump for the old flat head area (rotor pointing towards cyl 1 vs facing down like M38a1) I swapped the leads...

What have you done to your JEEP today

Having worked through the years on Jeeps I have come to thank the engineers for expanding the removable mid section floor. Those bolts on the back top bell housing are a total PITA on MB and GPWs

What have you done to your JEEP today

We built an engine with what we had on hand (Good Core) and swapped them out (aka didn't rebuild what was already there). We had a machine shop re do the head (valves, guides, seats etc) and block (checked, cleaned, bored/honed) and I believe we went with 40 over mainly because we have NOS 40 over...

Well here yaaaa Go! There are many layers of the paint. Oddly enough I have in total broken only three bolts. The rest have come out pretty easy. EDIT: Also, those are indeed M151a1 Turns signals on it! And a yummy wheel Cylinder And with my freshly rebuilt F head ( customer was stoked to...

What have you done to your JEEP today

Past week been working on a John Deere Green M38a1. Started with engine sway with the first engine rebuild ever which so far runs amazing, and then had to figure out a clutch not disengaging issue followed by why aren't the brakes working? Answer: Three out of four wheel cylinders are rusted...

I looked in the Boneyard found none then asked Matt, Apparently few years ago when I was messing with a M38a1 myself for a museum I stole the last one. However I know I've found them online before with the appropriate wiring and pin in them between $30-$70. With the M38a1 I do know you will...

The big two wire Jumper cable for the slave receptacles? Or the actual Socket deal? We may have OE pumps but they would all need a rebuild if could be found.

Matt is great to work for. I find his level of customer service impressive. After working retail for three years 2 of them on a management level I know how crazy it can be. Thankfully I stay in the back playing with things. Right now it's MUTT heaven. Have one Willys M151, two M151a1s, and...

What have you done to your JEEP today

The past two jeep I have used/seen run in cold weather have had slight "milky" residue (key word here) near the oil fill/air intake pipe deal. During the warmer months this would clear up. Long drives would also have same effect. Far as the oil I had to do two oil changes before I got clean...

What have you done to your JEEP today

I suggest pulling the head! I had the same issue with a CJ2A and found the head gasket was getting hit by the piston causing it to deform letting coolant into the cylinder. Looking at other gaskets I found not many with same issue but may have been a bad run of them causing this.
