What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Crossover steering requires at least 2 inches of lift, other wise there is interference with the frame and engine crossmembers. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

Where's the pink sender wire? Fuel gauge reading past full could mean a break in the pink wire, ground it to chassis and see if gauge reads empty. If it does, then the issue is sender, if not, could be faulty fuel gauge. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

That is the factory style harness for a civilian style 6.2, it is all fusible link, 10 guage (orange) then split into 16 gauge(green) for each individual plug. The one rubber connector is a replacement, the spade plastic are stock for 6.2's. There are several write ups on this, not specifically...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I think it looks small because the frame is lifted up and the axle is on the ground. Little optical illusion going on, I thought it was smaller as well, almost thought it was the 1009 he was cutting up at first. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

This might work out in your benefit to move the cross member forward or backward, one normally has to notch the center to clear the pickup tubes and hump of the fuel tank, perhaps moving it back a few inches will allow you adequate clearance. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

16.5 tires have been getting harder to find period. It's not just Europe. I've had to replace wheels and tires because it's been cheaper then finding 16.5 tires in the right size that don't cost 4x a regular 16 inch tire costs. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

As long as you use grade 10.9 12mm metric bolts, you'll be fine. You want the bolt to fit snug in the hole will no perceptible "slop" I like to ream the holes, gives the tightest fit over a drill bit.. If you have the blazer crossmembers, by all means use them, but you can reuse all the...

Apply a direct 12 volts to the IP fuel solenoid-it should click. If not, it is probably bad. Could still be bad if it clicks, but next step try the following. Rig up a 1 gallon jug with clean diesel, a fuel line from jug to injection pump(plus small fuel filter if desired). Hang the jug from...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Fight it, there is probably minimal frame damage, a couple bumper brackets, maybe a bumper and grille guard, and it would be good to go. Lots of these trucks go for upwards of $5,000 now, so find a couple good examples in the same condition as yours, and the insurance will likely pay. It's a...

Very nice, was this the cheap one in connecticut?? I almost grabbed it for my truck. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

Agreed, junkyard or maybe another member. I've only ever seen the screens for sale, never the clips. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

If they are swollen, failure is not far behind. It could just be carbon build up too, a long high rpm run may clean it up enough to pull the plugs. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

I also do this and replace the bolts with a stud and nut, so I still only need one wrench, plus no more stripped aluminum. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

No replacement parts. OK to bypass, just might lock rears more, especially in panic stops, and when wet Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

I think you said Dodge NV4500? If so you may want to verify it has the upgraded fifth gear nut. While it tends to be a problem only on the HD 4500 (with the larger input, used behind Cummins motors) all the Dodge 4500 had incorrect spline geometry on the fifth gear, causing walking and eventual...

I believe if you jump the terminals, that should light the dash light. If not, then it could be the bulb itself, I just did this in my truck, was working one day, not the next, thought was the switch, so put a new one in, turns out bulb just happened to burn out. Sent from my SM-S920L using...

Check glowplugs, remove, apply power and see how they react. Correct ohms does not always mean it's good. A compression check could say something too. Weak injectors, or weak injection pump could also be a factor. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

FYI, all gm trucks from 1985 used an electric washer pump mounted to the washer fluid reservoir mounted to the drivers fender. They also used the wiper arms with the nozzles in them-not all models though, my 1991 GMT400 series still used the nozzles mounted in the cowl. The connector still needs...

You should unbolt the torque converter from engine, and remove with the transmission. Install the transmission with the torque converter installed in the transmission, not on the engine. You are also more likely to damage the seal when installing then removing. Sent from my SM-S920L using...

The banks was manufactured for the 6.2. Anything under 10psi and 1100F for EGT, your all set. Stud the top and bottom end of the motor, you could be able to boost upwards of 15Psi. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk
